Good General Purpose Flashlight
I bought these because when I would go to use my 3-mode flashlight with 3 AAA batteries I would find find the batteries dead. Apparently the mode switch on the 3-mode flashlight does not fully isolate the batteries and they will drain over a few months. My expectation is that I won't have the same problem with these flashlights because they have an on/off switch. My concern was brightness. I used a brightness app on my phone to compare. Using the provided batteries, these flashlights have about 1/3 the brightness of my 3-mode flashlight at the brightest setting. With 2 alkaline AA batteries, they have more than 1/2 the brightness. This is fully sufficient and I won't have to worry about battery drain. Update: I am fully satisfied with these and purchased additional flashlights to keep in car and other places. I am very pleased that they work when I need them, and I don't have to worry that the batteries have drained down on their own like they do in my 3-mode flashlights which I have since discarded.

These flashlights were much smaller than I expected but they seem to be durable enough to do the job for which they were intended.

Very cheap but they work in emergencies, if you change the batteries
These are pretty standard cheap LED flashlights. They take AA batteries and the ones that they come with are "heavy duty" zinc-carbon batteries, which generally have a shelf life of about a year. However, they won't really leak, unlike alkalines. It's a bit pricey (especially for cheap flashlights) but I believe that you should either use rechargeables (which won't leak and only lose a bit of charge monthly, but have low capacity) or use lithium primaries like Energizer Ultimate Lithiums, which have an amazing capacity and shelf life of something like 10 years but are very expensive. Basically, if you use the batteries these come with, the flashlights likely won't be functional during the emergency where you need them.

Flashlights are small.
I like the 4 flashlight, but they smaller than they look like on the advertisement. Each flashlight is only 6 in. long. Perfect for a mans pocket, tool box, womans average purse. But, the light is powerful and you can see very well in a dark room in case of a blackout. Colors are suitable for anyone. I purchased a second set as a gift. They were very appreciated.

Buy something else unless your kids want flashlights
Negatives: 1. led light is not very bright - it's so dim, it's practically useless Positives: 1. it's cheap and you get 4 of them - if you wanted to buy some flashlights for your kids to play around with, this is it! 2. although the lights are made from cheap plastic, they seem durable enough to survive - but I would not rely upon them 3. batteries are included, and they don't suck/aren't already dead from the factory 4. beam pattern is pretty decent - but add a very dim led to it... and it's kind of useless. Overall: If you need to rely upon the light these flashlights will provide for primary or emergency use (roadside, home inspection, power outage, etc), buy something else brighter. If you need disposable, secondary lighting, that can be littered around the house to provide a source of light, go for it. This would make for a great first light for kids. Nothing too serious, nothing too bright to blind them either.

Blackout necessity
After experiencing a couple of blackouts this summer and not being able to find a flashlight, I thought the idea of 4 flashlights that use AA batteries would be a good idea. I have one in the bedroom, living room, kitchen and keep one in my walker. Feeling better about getting around when necessary in a blackout.

Me equivoqué yo quería dos pequeñas y dos grandes ,así que chequen bien antes de ordenar las suyas, porque yo obtuve 4 pequeñas y la verdad si estoy muy satisfecho, valió la pena la compra en cuanto a calidad y precio,pero yo la regué, cuando ya no me sirvan dos de las que tengo ordenaré dos que sean más grandes.
