Such a great idea!

Such a great idea for saddle storage, transit and lunging. Mine is cotton quilted both sides with fleece edging. However the pockets are on the small side - I have to force my ladies sized English stirrups into them and it's a little short. I'm using on a 17''' Bates dressage saddle. So - note to manufacturer - a little longer and a little wider please!

Nice covers

I have a new saddle (Collegiate mono event) and stirrups (Lorenzi's) with cheese grater bottoms -- I didn't want then to damage the saddle so I went shopping for covers. This is a nice product, very well made with good materials. Unfortunately, at first my stirrups didn't fit. Lorenzo's are very very wide, so I wasn't surprised. Since the covers were so cheap, I decided to gamble with a modification instead of returning. I cut each pocket open down the back and the stirrups popped right in and fit snugly. You can't see the "custom fit cut" because it faces the saddle. ;) I'm giving this 5 stars, even though I had to "customize" it to fit my stirrups. I got the black cover, which looks very smart with my black saddle.

Is not what pictured

I purchased this as a birthday present, and the item is not all black. It looks like it is sewn inside out. The part that is shown on the outside is a white cotton and black on the inside. The item I received was not what I expected for my purchase.

Good cover for average size stirrups to protect your leather saddle

I use these to protect the leather on my dressage and jump saddles. I use 4.75” MDC irons and they are heavy. With these covers I don’t need to worry about the irons scratching the leather.

Short in length

I like the idea of the stirrup iron covers but disappointed with the length. The stirrup covers are not long enough so the leathers are flat with the irons pulled up. I have used this for a pattern and made my own, longer, version out of quilted material.

the best way to keep stirrups from banging on horse/saddle while lunging! what a deal, couldn't make it for the price. also, so much better than individual stirrup covers as the 1 piece stays in place & secure! easy on & off!
