So much better than diaper genie!

We used a diaper genie for my first, in 4 years, we had to replace it 3 times, and that's even with decreased use once he was potty trained. Pull ups at nap and night, so twice a day, and the lid broke. This is sturdy, I do miss the foot pedal, but the slide is easy to use. It can get stinky, but the metal doesn't hold odor, let it air out for a while and it's fine. I keep a charcoal pack on a command strip beside it, but you could just as easily throw one in under the bag. The lock keeps my older son out, he's curious about everything. The size is perfect to fit in between the dresser and wall, and the design is cute!

A Real Scent Locker

My God, I should have had one of these when my oldest was an infant. I was initially looking for a tall skinny garbage can with a cover to help hide the sight scent of dirty diapers, dirty Pull-Ups, and used lady products as my children grow through each of these stages. I got to say I was extremely impressed with how well it locked in the stinky smells. I would definitely recommend changing your bag regularly otherwise the smell will definitely ferment within. There's a 100% chance that I'll buy another one of these even after my children grow out of the diaper and pull up stages.

The only diaper pail you will need

We have loved this diaper pail. It keeps the smells contained, is useful in that it doesn't require special bags, and it has a small profile. We tried fancier ones like the Munchkin and they were more of a hassle. You can't go wrong with this pail!

Liked it so much, I bought it again!

This is actually the second I've purchased - for my second child! Does the job well. Hinge on the first one I bought broke about 6 months in, but doesn't compromise the function too much (still keeps the stink sealed off effectively), so I was willing to buy another one for use with my second kid (since we're still using the first one...)

Works Pretty Well

Best part is it uses any bag and the bag is easy to lock in and remove. On the downside, the top slides open only when using both hands. One to stabilize the can and one to slide open the top. Would be nice if the top slid open easier so only one hand was needed. Difficult to use if baby is not on a changing table and is held in your arms.

Great bin, still saving money everyday 3.5 years on with baby No. 2 1. No significant additional costs for bin bags, simply use the cheap but sturdy bags from the supermarket 2. No smell once closed... we had a normal bin at first & the whole room smelled of poo after one nappy. 3. Great capacity, so you don't have to change it too often; even with two kids in nappies 3. Baby can't access the smelly nappies thanks to the handy lock... until they figure it out about 18 months 4. Solid metal construction, all looks, & functions still the same after 3 years + Quick tip... change the bag outside as the smell is horrendous when changing over the bags!

A great diaper pail - highly recommend

I spent a long time researching diaper pails and we ended up choosing the Ubbi. We have no regrets. Here are some of the reasons I chose this over the others: Pros: - metal construction means it won’t absorb any smells - you can use standard garbage bags with it (we use the drawstring bags from Costco and they are amazing) - completely air tight when closed - one handed operation - has a lock which stops our dog from opening the door - unlike the diaper genie, you don’t need to ‘push’ the diaper down into the bag, which was the number one reason we didn’t get one of those - you don’t want to keep pushing your hand down into a bag that has had a blow out diaper been put through it - looks really nice - it is definitely the classiest of diaper pails and they have so many colours and designs to choose from. Cons: - it could use some rubber grip on the bottom. If you have it on carpet it won’t be an issue but on hardwood it does slide when empty. You can fix but stickinng some rubber ‘feet’ to the bottom

I really can’t understand the positive reviews for this product. It stinks exactly the same as a £5 plastic nappy bin. Other than that it really offers nothing at all! Save yourselves some money and buy anything else! You really wont regret it!
