I don't anticipate any problems. I haven't had a chance to use them yet though. Good for my wallet and/or my hiking bag. Also good for a bugout bag.

Best knife sharpener I own!
I own a lot of different types of blade sharpeners, from stones to belts, and this is my go-to sharpener. It takes no time at all to sharpen any knife to razor sharp, you just have to resist the urge to use a lot of pressure, as it isn't needed with the diamond coating. They're pretty coarse at first but smooth out fairly quick, but work amazingly. If I had any complaint at all, they snap closed and feels like you might break them when opening, but after a while it broke in and got better. Not really worth complaining about, just thought it was worth mentioning because I did look online when I got it to make sure I wasn't going to break it.

Pruner sharpening
I keep this in a pouch on my tool belt when pruning client yards. Red/blue combo is perfect for touching up the edge; red for a quick sharpen and blue to correct big nicks on the root pruner. Use it dry, on top is a ladder or away from the truck and Bam! you’re back in business. Fast, easy and no special prep. Way better result than dragging a carbide across the edge, (leaves tiny burrs).

Awkward due to its short length
The foldable plastic covers must have seemed like a neat idea to the product design team, but in practice, they are not valuable or practice, and perhaps also help account for the too-short length of this two-sided sharpener stone. Each diamond-impregnated stone is only about 5 inches long, so sharpening all but the shortest paring knife is an awkward affair .... too cumbersome for me to want to retain this sharpener. The stones (mine were med. coarse and med. fine) did function to sharpen my knives, but it was too much trouble for my other five longer knives. Redesign to stay two-sided and make it 8-9 inches long and you've got yourself an interested buyer.

Compact and hones well
Not much to say but that it travels well and sharpens knives very well. I use this for moraknivs, pocket knives, and such. We'll see how the plastic hinges hold up to time and use.

BEST FOR SMALLER BLADES
The sharpener itself is just like its larger counter parts. I have several larger DMT sharpeners that have lasted me years. This sharpener is great for pocket knifes and shorter hunting blades, if you are carful. The cover, which folds into the handle is a little flimsy, as it is made out of a harder type plastic. It should hold up in time, but defiantly feels like it could break if not the least bit gentile.

Does exactly what you need it to do. Coarse on one side fine on the other. Easy to use foldaway design. All DMT products are top notch.

A great quality brand
A quality product from a quality brand however my particular piece wasn't up to the usual DMT quality standards. The plastic centers of the sharpening tool weren't properly aligned and were slightly crooked and with subpar finish work on the plastic pieces under the diamond coated metal surface. However though a slip up of quality control making it subpar it's still fully functional and gets the job done.

Good tool, works well.
This tool works very well with the coarse side rapidly removing enough metal to restore the proper shape. Then the fine side works well for a sharp edge. Seller delivered promptly. The handle is not as robust as an earlier diafold that I owned and eventually wore out after many years of work.

Top quality diamond sharpener
Diamonds are evenly distributed and all the same grit. Cheaper diamond sharpeners use a different method to bond to the plates and diamond particle sizes vary. They tend to do more damage than good. This sharpens knives quickly and leaves a uniform finish on the blade. It takled S35VN with ease and took it from a very dull blade to razer sharp quickly and effortlessly. All you'll need to sharpen your knife, coarser grits not needed because the diamonds remove material fast.
