Fits a small bar sink and is well made

A fine touch faucet...

The first thing to note about this faucet is that it's attractive and well-built. Aesthetically, it's a great faucet with nice flowing lines, The wide base narrows toward the top, before widening again at the spray tip, creating a sense of symmetry to the whole. Delta makes quality plumbing accessories, and this is no exception. It's a bit more complicated to install than your average faucet because of the electronic parts which allow for the touch control--and it's more expensive because of those parts as well--but you should get years of good use from this faucet. The faucet is operated by a normal handle off the base of the faucet which adjusts a normal cartrridge valve combining temperature and flow rate. The unique ability of this faucet is, once you set temperature and flow rate by the normal means, this faucet can be turned on and off by touching any metal part of the faucet. Touching metal activates an electric solenoid which operates a separate valve on the faucet which simply starts and stops flow to the faucet head. So you set temperature and flow by the normal handle, then touch the faucet to start flow and touch it again to stop flow. Touches need to be about 3/4 of a second in length. Hold onto the faucet longer and the sensor assumes you are moving the faucet head and does not turn on. Briefer touches are not sensed. I have found the touch operation to be a bit tricky for guests who immediately go for the handle and are stymied when it doesn't turn on, but once you've had it installed for a week you get used to it. Electric power for the faucet's electronics is provided by a six-AA battery pack. Moen makes a similar faucet called "Motionsense" which relies on motion and a sensor window in the faucet base. Moen's system also requires batteries, but can be converted to AC power. Kohler makes a similar faucet called the Kohler "Sensate" which operates only on AC power. I would prefer AC to batteries, though AC requires a GFCI circuit. You may not have an outlet under your sink if you don't have a garbage disposal--and if you do, the outlet may be switched, so batteries are the easiest and most foolproof solution for a manufacturer to provide. The faucet rests on a 3/8 inch high black flush plastic base. Inside the plastic three multicolored LEDs indicate water temperature. To conserve water from inadvertent touches, the electronic system automatically turns the water off after four minutes. You can re-touch the faucet to reestablish flow. This is generally only a problem if you like to dethaw frozen food by running warm water over it--in which case you may find this limitation frustrating. The faucet's spray head attaches to the end of the faucet stem with a strong magnet, something so convenient that every removable spray head faucet should include it. Now, a few warnings. This faucet generally works well, but when it goes bad, it can be frustrating. And you should be aware that though the Delta warranty to the original owner is for as long as they continue to own their home, the lifetime warranty is only on normal faucet parts. Electronics have just a five-year warranty and I know from experience that Delta is not easygoing about this limitation. Go past five years and experience a problem and you will need to pay for the parts yourself--and a new solenoid for this faucet costs from $140 to $180, depending on where you get it. Get it from Delta, and it will be at the high end of that range. So, while I commend this faucet's looks and convenience, it can prove exceptionally expensive to own if you have electrical problems down the line. $180 for a new solenoid is the price of a fairly nice faucet all by itself. You have to determine whether touch control is that important to you. If it is, this is an attractive, well-built faucet. AND, Kohler's Sensate faucets and Moen's Motionsense faucets have identical warranties, with electronic parts covered for only five years. So you can't do better going elsewhere. I have no personal knowledge of which of the three systems proves more reliable over the long run. Delta is a top-quality American manufacturer with great customer service and an excellent lifetime warranty which this faucet shares for its normal parts--but on electronics it's a strict and straight five years. Since I'm not going to pay $180 to fix the electronics if they break, it's good that this faucet can be converted to normal usage by removal of the solenoid valve.

Quality product from a trusted brand!

The media could not be loaded. I recently moved into a house that had a Moen motion-sense faucet. We quickly decided we didn't like the battery-operated sensor system and wanted to replace it with a more traditional faucet (it would misfire a lot and was generally annoying). I've had good experiences with Delta before, so I was excited for a chance to try this out out. It looks great (which doesn't surprise me), and feels very premium (also not a surprise). Installation was pretty straight forward, and I know that Delta honors their products for a lifetime so I'm pretty confident I won't need to change this anytime soon. One thing I particularly like is the spray head option: You can press the button to activate the water spray instead of regular stream, much like other faucets, however unlike others it will actually remember that setting until you turn it off. This is something that actually irked me about other faucets that would automatically turn off afterwards. Sometimes, when cleaning something out using the spray function, I want to turn off the water and then turn it back on, and it was always an extra unnecessary step to press the spray button again. I guess some people assumed this is how they should all work, but I really like it that this one will in that setting like a switch until I reset it to the original position. I'm attaching a video to illustrate better. All in all, another quality product by a brand I respect.

so convenient with Touch2O Technology

After we received this we installed it next day. We LOVE this faucet its so convenience. So easy to turn on and off. When your hands have banana or avocado or any food on them, you just tap the spout with the back of your hand (or any part) and the water comes on. So convenient. If I hadn't used it, I might think it's kind of unnecessary. But having used it, I'll never buy a non-touch kitchen faucet again.

This one is a basic Delta faucet... But by basic I mean it's a solid quality faucet that has delta quality and it works very well. I think if you are in the market for a high quaity faucet this delta is a good option... Just my thoughts, AK

gorgeous bar faucet

wow, this thing is a beauty.... Delta is really making a big splash at the high end love the finish, and its suppose to last much longer and repel water spots, so far it has...read above handle is smooth, german like smooth ;) the pull is smooth as well, and not so visible, fits so well, love the magnetic catch the instructions are very good....not needed for me, installed so many... the fittings are robust and built to last excellent packaging, no sliding parts scratching up the faucet.... hard to find a flaw with this bar faucet...which many people are now installing in large master baths! 5 stars!
