Maybe not the best value but for sure the best tool

When I received these in the mail I was really impressed by how well-built they were. Very heavy duty, thick cast jaws. Long handles to be able to apply a lot of clamping pressure. Definitely a nice tool, and made in the US. They surely cost a little bit more because they are made in this country… But you know that when you order them. I was willing to pay a little bit more because of that to get a quality tool and I was OK with it but I realize that the value for money is not quite there so I didn’t subtract one star. I probably got lucky

Several reviews (with pics) have mentioned or shown how these (primarily handles) have uneven manufacturing/quality control. I have a co-worker who also bought from Amazon and got a pair where the handles were quite crooked. My pair came about 90% even so I'm pretty satisfied with them compared with the bad pics and my co-worker's. I don't know why, but I find these single hinge tongs easier to use than the ones with dual/compound hinges. They do the job pretty well and have held up (I've seen an old-timer take a similar but different brand up a ladder instead of a hammer; I've followed his example a few times) with no signs of damage after some 9 months.

As any HVAC person knows, Midwest is the best

These are heavy on belts but they work so dang good. Not to mention duct seal comes right of these and they don’t rust. The handle has a nice grip so you won’t swing back and smack yourself.

Worth the extra $

Don't buy any seamer cheaper than this one...I did and they are junk compared to this one. This tool is well made and works great...worth the extra cost for sure!

Quality made!

I work with sheet metal every day and I must say this pair of seamers is worth ever penny! Highly recommend for its quality and sturdiness of Midwest seamers. This is a must have for any hvac worker!

High Quality Boat anchor tongs!

The tings are very well built and have great functionality. They are extremely heavy and are now a shop tool rather than something I carry on the roof. They also have no mechanical advantage mechanism built in, the force you exert is what you get out. I would recommend these for 24 gauge and thinner material as they do not function well when seaming 22 gauge galvalume substrates.

They are pretty heavy, but good for bending heavy gauge metal

They are a pretty heavy, probably pretty similar in weight to my sheet metal hammer. But that's not a terrible thing because they substitute as a hammer half the time. My edges were not crooked as some people have described. Overall pretty good

Not up to Midwest usual standards

I wish I could return these but I forgot about them until the window had closed. The build quality is incredibly poor and they are unnecessarily heavy. Not heavy as in built well, heavy because the material is cheap and has to be thick enough not to break.
