Great product!

Had no problem installing this one as a replacement spotlight for my original Jabsco 155 SL Marine Searchlight, which was basically destroyed from taking 5-7 foot waves repeatedly, it snapped off of its mount like a toothpick. In similar weather conditions with sizeable waves, this spotlight appeared much less top-heavy and seemed to hold up just fine for me without any issues. My boat is a 28 foot Carver and handles fairly well in waves of up to 5-7 feet, so it was nice to find a replacement spotlight that could handle conditions that I know my boat is capable of handling. Disclaimer: even as a seasoned mariner, I do not typically operate in conditions with significant waves, nor do I condone others in doing so, but sometimes weather forecasts don't do mother nature justice and you can easily find yourself caught in a storm or rough seas while boating. Always keep your eye on the sky and stay up to date on the latest marine warnings or small craft advisories from the National Weather Service prior to boating.

This light get five stars mainly due to price, as the housing IS plastic. But, it was an easy replacement for a remote spot on our boat that costs over $1200. The footprint was very close to that of the one we replaced on our Sea Ray, not only because it just quit working, but the aluminum housing was corroding so bad in our salt water environment. The control pad was easy to install, but we did use some waterproof connectors to connect the wires under the dash which will make for an easy removal when and if we ever need to remove it to paint or replace. No, it won't light up the sky with enough light to summon Batman, but will illuminate channel markers in the vicinity.

Too bad they only supply such a short cable

Check the top of the black bezel because there is a gap which may allow water inside. I sealed it with silicon to be safe. Too bad they only supply such a short cable. 14 feet. Came up about 5 feet short and had to add my own wiring on 25 foot boat.

works great. I bought this to replace an older spotlight

works as advertised. Took a few minutes to hook it up, but once I did, works great. I bought this to replace an older spotlight. This seems to work well when I tried it that night. Panning & Tilt seemed to work well. Will know next week, when we leave at 3 am for halibut fishing. Looking forward to be able to see something!

While the left and right rotation is the whole unit, the up and down rotation is internal. Surprising yet it doesn't hinder the range.
