Great Idea

After reading a lot of reviews, I purchased these for all the cupboards in my kitchen. My cupboards go clear to the ceiling and are full of glass items. I installed 2 of them on the doors I open most often. I slammed the doors hard and banged the shelves and after several weeks, did not have one "false latch". I then installed them on all the rest. I wont know if they really work or not until we have an earthquake. It seems like they are well designed and built. Hopefully, I'll never find out.

They work!!!!

These do work!!! In Nov 2019 we had a 7.1 earthquake here in Anchorage. All my friends and neighbors had glassware, dishes, and spice jars fall out of their cupboards when the doors shook open. Ours stayed shut and every latch deployed!!! Everyone had a mess to clean up and lost valuable dishes. We had nothing to clean up and not one thing in our kitchen broke. Highly recommend them!!!

Just Hope They Work When "The Big One" Hits

Once you get the "hang" of it, these latches are very easy to install using the rubber foam guide. I would strongly suggest looking up "SeismoLatch" on YouTube and watch the installation tutorial. The instructions that come in the box are worthless. After watching the YouTube I was able to easily install latches on all of my upper kitchen cabinets. The nice thing about these is they only engage when there is lateral shaking consistent with earthquake seismic ground motion.
