Small but powerful

Excellent for cleaning out cars, when coupled with the accessory kit. Its only 1hp smaller then my huge 16gal shop vac, but 1/5 the size.

Best shop vac for the money.

While its not going to unflood your basement - or pick up sheet rock mess - its a very powerful vacuum for general purpose (especially cleaning out a car or truck). Highly recommended and powerful for its size.

Comparing this to the Vacmaster Beast 5 gal / 5.5 HP. Not evaluating longevity here, because I just bought and compared them. My application is broad: - Office Copier, Printer and upholstered chair; each collects dust weekly. - Small-Project Office Workshop (generates small amounts of drill and other debris, weekly) - Personal Car (not just the carpets but the seats, console & dashboard) - Traveling handyman projects (Volunteer work generating moderate debris, but not "contractor" volume) - Tennis Ball machine that accumulates dust, sand, leaves and ball fuzz. Difficult nooks & crannies. - Household cleaning. My Dyson doesn't have enough suction for hose-cleaning. Also, I purchased the Ridgid Car Detailing kit. Vacmaster If you want FEROCIOUS suction, get the Vacmaster; "Beast" is accurate. YouTube reviews showing the Beast to outperform carwash systems are totally accurate. But suction THAT powerful will scuff leather seats and plastic car interiors and office equipment. The lid-to-tub fit is sloppy, as noted by other reviewers; the 2 clips don't generate a firm seal. Vacmaster needs to snug up manufacturing process. Hose connections with the Ridgid Car detailing kit are awkward. Ridgid Everything seems to be well designed, except there's no legit hose carrier. The handle hole serves only to park the nozzle when idling. A Ridgid rep stated that you "wrap the hose around the handle" like the cord, but that's a very tenuous perch (for the hose). There's a reason why none of the marketing pics show anyone carrying the unit with the hose attached (form over function). The Vacmaster has functional but less pretty hose hooks. The vacuum strength is excellent. Not "Schwarzenegger" but athletic nonetheless. A YouTube Car Detailer who recommends the Ridgid, cautions that even the Rigid suction is enough to scuff leather and scratches console plastics, and urges caution. And that's the logic that compelled me to return the Vacmaster; there's such a thing as "too much suction", for many applications. The Ridgid is high quality, with "sweetspot" power, and handles well; I like the combination of strong suction with a compact tub. And I have no idea why people bother with Dustbusters, especially when they cost 3/4 of what this unit does; I guess they look pretty when stored? Strongly recommended for users with varied applications.

Vacuum works well but damaged on delivery

Vacuum works really well, a little bulkier than I expected compared to some similar models but the thing is a beast. Design is fairly basic so it’s not the most compact or convenient when it’s put away. Box was damaged a crudely taped back together at some point. Bucket had been dented, needed some reshaping to get the proper seal with the top section. Whole thing was covered in dirt. Vacuum deserves a better review but it’s let down by the standard it arrived in.

Great portable vacuum.

This is a no frills, no nonsense unit. It has powerful suction and is easy to carry. The 20' cord and 8' hose are very useful on the job site. I would recommend this unit for anyone, professional or casual user.

Plactic end at hose end breaks off

The plastic end on the end of the hose disconnected from the hose after a few uses. Cannot use attachments now. Too bad as other than that it is a great machine but this makes it almost unusable.
