Will work on your 8200 gun.

Use for 8200 series weller gun bend and mount tighten properly as normal fasten to your gun . Holds up soldering bulky wire. *Recommend : 4 packs to be sold at reduced costs. These & other tips for same weller guns don't last that long as you may already know.

Great fix for an old tool

Dad bought me this Weller 8200 soldering gun in 1964. Back in the 1960s (as a teenager) I was all over the place with electronic gadgets and experiments and car modifications. Used that gun a lot and replaced the tip about once a year. Now it's 2017 and I probably solder wires about once every five years-- but here I am with a really old tip which won't heat up easily. So I bought a pack of these (yes, there are TWO in the pack). Installed one and it heats up great in about five seconds. (By the way, in the old days, they appeared to be pure copper, or copper colored, anyway. These new ones are silver colored instead. The package does not specify the material, but they sure do work. Now let's just hope they last a few years.)

Very Pleased To Find Tips For My 30 Yr. Old 8200. Great Quality At A Good Price

For about 10 years, the tip on my Weller has been on its last leg. I can't believe that it hasn't broken from all the bending it's been through trying to keep it's shape. Finally I have the peace of mind of having 2 of these. One on the gun and a spare. I have used it a few times. Heats up quickly and gets the job done. They seem to be of very good quality. Glad that I just came upon them while looking around. I would recommend to anyone as a very good value, and I would buy again if needed. A good product. Exactly what I needed! So hard to find!

I recently discovered that nobody seems to carry these tips. After going to a couple of different home improvement depots/warehouses, an electronics shack, and wally world, I was unable to find these tips anywhere. There were tips for cheaper soldering irons, and there were the soldering guns themselves for sale. But nowhere, even those places that carry the Weller 8200 soldering guns, offers replacement tips for it. I was thrilled when these arrived, and made my soldering gun perform like new once again. And since there are two per pack, I have an extra when the current tip wears out. I suggest buying these before you need them, so you don't have a project interrupted, and so you don't waste hours going from store to store looking for these (when you'd rather be finishing the project) like I did.
