Strong flame

Greta charcoal starter

Bought it to start charcoal and it can light my coals in about 30 seconds. It’s not so great for searing though.

Awesome flame torch, just as good as my Searzall

I've had a Searzall for years but was looking for another kitchen torch for our catering business. Couldn't find another Searzall so I took a chance on this. It's just as good and can also be used for other uses, like starting a fire since you can adjust the flame on this more dramatically than a Searzall. I also like that it's all in one, and all you need to add is a mini-propane tank.

works well

Works well, lights easily, and burns hot. The handle feels cheap and it does not have a safety valve so if tipped too far forward, the propane starts to pour into the ignition and makes the flame much larger unexpectedly.

Wholly Bat Torch (this is a win)

The media could not be loaded. I bought a different brand at double the price. It was a dud from the start. Would not light. I just got the King and it worked on the first try. And the flame shoots out like on the Batmobile. Really powerful. It's totally worth the price. Will update again after several more uses. For now I am Batman. Update October 2022. Still a great purchase. Works every time. I used it about 6 times now. Helps light coal plus you can sear meat with it. Having a separate control dial from the igniter proved to be much better.

Better than I thought

Max 2.5 foot flames which is more than I was expecting. Great for crusting steaks on the grill or lighting a campfire.

Definitely powerful enough to start charcoal

Thought I’d drop a review because my main concern with ordering this item was whether it would be powerful enough to start my kamado bbq charcoal fires quickly, as other methods I’ve tried did not really start the coals as quick as claimed, and I didn’t want to spend several hundred dollars for the most popular charcoal starter. This item is definitely very powerful. The videos posted on reviews do not do it justice. I started my coals over a wide area in just a few seconds. Literally. So far, very happy.

Great for outdoor use, not sure about kitchen use

Works great for starting a charcoal grille but it would be hard to imagine using it indoors to finish off a creme brulee or something like that. The lowest flame is still pretty big, and if you turn it up you can easily throw a flame of 2 feet or so. I highly recommend it for outdoor use and would just suggest being careful for indoor use.

Worth the purchase

Very powerful torch. I wouldn’t recommend using indoors to sear meat. The only thing keeping it from getting 5 stars is the fact the gas valve leaks and the fuel source needs to be removed directly after use. Other than that I would recommend.

Awesome torch

This little torch is great. I used it for starting the fire going in my fire pit. The handle feels a little flimsy but it works good It’s like a little tiger torch.

Not Dependable

Worked on the first click. It was fun for about 5 minutes. Then when I needed it the next day, 20 clicks later and it wouldn't ignite. Now it works intermittently.
