Perfect travel iron

It’s small, gets hot, steams and works on 220 or 110 voltage. It won’t do the job of a standard size iron but it does great touch ups when living from a suitcase.

Did a good job until....

I'm a quilter and I bought this small iron to have next to my sewing machine so I could press my small fabric pieces as I sewed them. It did a good job. It got hot and pressed well even though it was lightweight. I didn't like the heat dial located on top of the iron because it burned my fingers if I wasn't careful when I was shutting it off. I never used the steam feature. Unfortunately, it didn't last very long. I bought it in April, 2021 and it died yesterday, 2/15/23. That's less then 2 years. I think if you're only going to use it as a travel iron and only use it occasionally, it would last longer. I wouldn't recommend it for crafters or quilters that would use it a lot like I did.

For most products, you just have to plug and use. This item, although very compact and attractive, you have to really read the specific instructions in order to use the steamer.

Sweet little workhorse, gentle for arthritic hands!

I spend 2 to 5 hours a day sewing masks. When arthritis attacked my hands it became quite painful to work beyond an hour using my old trusty tailoring iron that I’ve used for years and years, but when I bought this little travel iron, once again I could sew as many hours a day as I wanted/needed to. I haven’t weighed it but it isn’t any heavier than my cell phone, and the handle is configured so I don’t even have to grip it like a teakettle (as I do to hold the big one) but can hook it with 2 fingers if I want. The plate is shaped exactly the same as the shape of the masks, and being small, it fits into the crannies where the large iron doesn’t. The 2nd photo shows you the size difference in the two irons. I love this little iron! I don’t mind that I have to refill it often as the water vessel doesn’t hold much, it provides ample steam when I want it. And the range of heat is just as good as the big iron. The only caveat is something I read about in the reviews before I bought it, that’s the short life. I know it’s meant as a travel iron, not to be used 2 to 5 hours a day, 7 days a week, and I was prepared to replace it in about a year, but no, it only lasted 3 months and 12 days after delivery - 2 months and 13 days after the return deadline. This morning it was totally unresponsive. So today, after making one mask using the big, 20 lb iron, I bit the bullet and ordered another sweet little workhorse. At this price I'll just consider it a subscription item that makes it possible for me to keep up the pace making my masks.

Do not leave any water in it

I really loved this little iron. I bought it originally for use while making face masks (yes, I'm THAT woman). It was amazing at getting into the tiny creases and making them crisp and sharp. I ended up using it on all my ironing, whether travelling or not, although it is not the best at ironing heavy fabrics, but understandably so. It gets nice and hot and makes great steam, but my only real complaint about this iron is the opening to pour the water in is at the bottom of the handle and is held closed by a rubber stopper. I made the mistake of storing it with some water still in it, for a period of several months, and all the water soaked into the rubber stopper and made it very spongey. Once I popped it out to try to put more water into the iron, the stopper was so misshapen that I could not get it back in, and I had no way to keep the water from spilling out and all over my ironing. I had no choice but to throw it out. This is a big design flaw, which could be corrected by putting the water hole at the top of the handle.

A most useful tool

I purchased this mini steam iron to press smal pieces of sewing like facial coverings. It is very quick to heat and its small size reaches and cover areas with ease. The steam vents are at the tip of the sole thus facilitating pressing hard to reach zones. There is a small window over the tank to follow the level of water. It has a very long cord so I do not need to use an extension. Very handy are the resting pads. The instructions are clear . Very pleased with this purchase.

water leaks out

I love the size and weight of this item, unfortunately as far as a steam iron goes, it is a little lacking. the water leaks out so it doesn't "steam". But I like the size for crafting so I use it with a spray bottle. It was not that expensive so I am not overly upset.
