Great for what I use it for.

Now that I have had this for a year and have used it for several hours figure I would write a review. It's a great, quiet compressor for the money. The only reason I give it 4 stars overall is that I wish the tank drain was actually on the bottom of the tank and not offset to the side. It would allow draining any moisture in the tank to be a bit easier. But other than that I couldn't be happier with it.

Top of the line portable compressor. Courteous, highly responsive customer service.

Received defective unit missing parts, stuck pressure relief valve, bad pressure sensor light. No troubleshooting info online, minimal Owner's Manual. UPDATE: I contacted Paasche after not receiving response to online forms I submitted via their website. Talked with Chuck in Customer Service he apologized for the website isues. He immediately shipped a brand new replacement and RMA'ed the defective unit. I received the replacement in 3 days. Much better unit - quieter, everything functioned as expected including auto-shutoff. Chuck totally restored my faith in Paasche quality.

This has got to be THE most quiet and consistent running air compressor I have had the PLEASURE to work with! This compressor is SO smooth and quiet while it’s running, it can’t even be heard in the next room over!! When the compressor reaches its peak psi setting, (wherever that might be at the time) the “Blow-off valve” air release is the noisiest part of this compressor, which can VERY easily be silenced or muffled with a rolled up towel, or simply a plastic muffler designed to silence this type of thing.... I live in a very quiet Condominium complex, and not a single one of my neighbors has ever heard this compressor, nor did they have any idea I even had an air compressor running at all.... I actually had to prove it to the neighbor below me, because they did not believe that ANY air compressor could possibly be SO quiet and smooth.... Not only is it quiet and smooth, but it holds its pressure so well, that I have used my Anest Iwata LS400 Pininfarina Full-Size fun to spray clear, with Amazing results!! if I ever need to, I WILL BUY AGAIN!! Thanks for a great compressor!!

Arrived on time BUT....

The unit arrived on time but, when I pulled out of the carboard shipping box, the first thing I noticed is the capacitor housing was slightly bent and hanging loose by the wires. Also, the regulator would not turn freely and made no difference in the PSI adjustment. Yes, the unit worked BUT, for a brand new unit components should be attached properly and work as designed. I returned the unit with no issues. The replacement unit should be at my door tomorrow. Hopefully, this will in good order...OH, also there were pieces missing from the parts bag which was ripped open. Quality control needs to be tighter at Paasche.

Quiet and powerful

Got this used from amazon and I can tell it was one of the units that rolled out of the factory on a Friday. The caps on the tube ends were not installed correctly and the sticker logo was haphazardly put on, but these details are really superficial. Being used it had a few minor dings and scratches but the price was good and it works like a charm. Some say its heavy but at 40 lbs its the lightest compressor I have owned and pretty easy to moved around... And like I said, its powerful.

Needed switch Adjustment

When I first plugged it in it ran until the release valve opened and continued to run. Under the switch I had to adjust it to bring it back down the pressure I wanted. Other than that it is pretty quiet and seems like a good product.

High Quality Well Designed Product

My machine was slightly damaged and therefore I was able to purchase it at a lower price—great beginning. I love this compressor with its utilitarian purposeful appearance. It is not described as silent but it is quiet. I like the layout of the pressure control knob, gauges, and hose connections all clustered together on the top. It is equipped from the factory with two "Quick Disconnect" hose fittings so purchasers will need to secure complimentary connectors for their air hoses if they do not have them already. I routinely airbrush at 15-20 PSI and this machine has plenty of capacity for this. It is relatively heavy but I will not be moving it around. If I do need to lift it, its carrying handle is located in a position where the machine is well balanced.

no available parts

I purchased this unit about 18 months ago. I performed well. I did not use the compressor on a daily basis but at least once a week. Reently the pressure control switch went bad. The pressure was inconsistent andwould not recharge. I called Paasche to get a replacement for the pressure control switch but was informed that the do not have any parts for the unit because it is imported from China and the cost to get the part was not worth the effort. I would not recommend the product if it will be used on a consistent basis.
