Easy to install

We have had this dog door for many years and over time the flap started to curl at the edges, allowing gnats to enter the house. I ordered the flap replacement, noting the size to be determined by the number of screws along the top of the flap. It was easy to install and now there are no openings to allow gnats or other bugs entry. Of note, our dog noted a little more resistance with the new flap and required some encouragement to use the door. (Not the sharpest tool in the shed!) All is well now! Love that you can replace the flap and not the entire door!!!! 5 stars!

Working good so far

This was a bit tricky to install. I had to sandwich between the door and a metal plate and since the holes are oval (for adjustments) the first time it slumped down too far because of the weight. So I had to go back and loosen all of the screws just enough, slide it up and then hold it to redo them really tight so it wouldn't slip any more. It's been a while and it seems to be holding in place. Works just like the original only it's clean. Hope it will last as long as the original flap (over 8 years).

Fit perfectly

Its a 2 person job to install unless you remove the old frame which I did to install the new cover. our dogs destroyed the plastic strip on the inside which receives the screws so I had to make a new one only out of a piece of aluminum flat stock I had on hand. The manufacturer ought to supply a new one with the cover in my estimation for the price of the unit. Fitment was perfect. Thought it was short but the magnetic strip at the bottom of the flap pulls up another strip in the frame at the bottom to fill the gap.

Fits existing pet door perfectly

I originally purchased the 'PetSafe Wall Entry Aluminum Pet Door with Telescoping Tunnel, small' six years ago. I wanted to buy this door again, but it is no longer available on Amazon so I purchased this 'PetSafe Replacement Flap.' This flap fits perfectly, so if you purchased the PetSafe door I mentioned here, then this is the replacement flap you need. The flap is easy for my 12 pound dog to push through and has a weighted magnetic bottom which keeps it shut when not in use.

Fits perfect No Hardware

I have a double flap made of 2 of these stuck with double sided tape. It's in a glass patio door that I live. The outside flap cracked in below zero temps. For this price they should've included hardware as the screws easy to lose and the outside screw on strip is just plastic. Flap great AND they should've included extra replacement hardware

Item is just as ordered they usually last about three years that’s amazing because the door was installed for a rat terrier. Now Much larger husky 65 lb learned to use the door when she was a puppy now 5 yrs old still using the door at a full run.

I tried buying a generic version but it was to long . Petsafe is a perfect fit . It closes perfectly, although I have to replace every year it's worth it .

Easy install pet safe door

Our old door was rough, bowed, and the sides were worn out. Looked at it and saw a product number so came to Amazon and sure enough there was a replacement flap. Took 2 minutes to switch out on my own.

For a No Other Choice Item it is OK

Given that you can only buy a Stayguard replacement flap to fit the Dog Flap frame then this product is OK, but has a limited life and requires replacement this is the second that we have had to buy over the last 5 years due to wear on the fitting holes due to our dog going in and out several times each day. And so a more durable flap fitting method could be redesigned, but as there is seemingly no competition then, therefore, there is no requirement for Staywell to do so.

Easy fit good quality part.

This is the 3rd time I have renewed the flap in over 10 yrs. so well supported product. Over the years, though, the mounting screws have become more and more difficult to undo cos of rust. It would be very useful if the screws where included with the flap. Otherwise a really good product.

lol it's been a brilliant investment and def keeps the heat in the house ...

I have had this dog door on my back door for over 15 years and only had to replace the flaps twice. That may sound a lot but when you have 3 dogs (terriers and collie's) charging in and out everyday, or just standing sticking their head through to look out into the garden without going out and getting wet.. lol it's been a brilliant investment and def keeps the heat in the house as I don't have to leave the back door open for them. The flap is rubber-like and great quality, would def recommend to anyone putting in a dog hatch.

Fits perfectly

Easy to install gave the door a new lease of life. Hold shut better as it’s straight and magnet therefore connects better. Great door and easy to replace the flap when needed. We have had 3 dogs since we had the door and 1 lived to over 17 and his brother 15 so it had a lot of wear. Only had 4 replacements in over 20 years.

Bought as a replacement for our original dog door flap. Was a bit dear but not compared to how much it would cost to replace the whole dog flap. It is of sturdy design and they last well but with 3 dogs you have to be prepared that they won't last forever. So having this option of buying a replacement dog flap is fantastic. If it last's as long as the last one did we will be a very happy Tigger :)
