Very sturdy, and SOOO easy to put together!!!!

I bought this solely for a back up cooking source during any emergency power outages. A great cook stove. Quite solid and literally took a minute to slide the 4 legs on, and it was ready to go. Fired up immediately when I hooked up to the LP tank. A little confusing at first, (operator error) the knobs turn off in the wrong direction. The Off position is all the way to the left, (the highest flame) direction. No problem. If you look at what you have to pay for a tiny Coleman 2 burner (using the green cannisters), you will see why I paid more for the quality and the ability to use LP gas.

Perfect!

Super high quality! I boiled a pot of water on an indoor propane stove a few days ago. It took 30 minutes. This Camp Chef took between 4 and 5 minutes for a rolling boil using the same pot. Easy to assemble. Easy to use. I will use this for everything from pasta to lobster to searing seafood and steak. I'm delighted with this stove.

Wonderful for outdoor canninng

We purchased this to use for canning. It works extremely well if using one burner. If using both burners, it takes a little longer because the heat is split. Overall, it was a good purchase.

Great stove for outdoor use. Heat output is good and I can see how the aluminum burners could potentially melt as other customers have experienced.

Easy to use, sturdy, hard to get quite low enough to can at 11psi

We got this to pressure can outside as our kitchen is laid out very poorly for canning. It heats up quickly, holds 2 pressure canners without flinching. The wind screen attaches can handle mild winds, but that is all I expected it to handle. My only complaint is that it needs to be just a TINY bit better on temp. It has to be all the way down to maintain a temp low enough to keep a canner at 11psi. It sometimes nudges up higher. So, a bit better temp control would be perfect. But, as it is, it’s a workhorse for its size & we are VERY pleased.

Great for RV's

My wife and I take our camper everywhere and we have gone through a million portable grills seems like they never have enough heat to sear steaks and they are built cheap and don't last so I was sceptical but when it arrived and I saw how heavy duty it was and the huge output of the heat I was sold ....do yourself a favor get this and the optional griddle and a couple of cast iron skillets and your set. The great feature on this grill is you don't need to use the legs and can put it on top of a table.

Good stove, but lacking quality contruction.

I’m writing this review of the Camp Chef Explorer. I’ve owned this unit nearly two years, and use it several times a month, year-round. Overall, I’m really very happy with the unit. I really thought about this review for a while, 4 or 5 stars? Finally settled on 4 due to overall quality. Despite Amazon’s poor packaging, the unit arrived intact. Removed the unit from the box, and while removing the plastic wrap, I cut my thumb. What the heck? Whoever was in charge of grinding down the welds had let the grinder slip, resulting in a spike of metal sticking up from the grate. This made me really look at the assembly. The welds are what I would expect from a first semester, 9th grade welding student. Having taught high school welding, I’m familiar with the quality. It would only take a minute or two to create the quality welds I would have expected on this unit. Ended up taking a file to several of the welds to smooth them out. I don’t blame the Chinese manufacturer; they produce the product their client requests. As another reviewer noted, one on the legs was slightly crushed out of round. I was able to get it into place, and the unit was stable. Another example of Camp Chef not using Quality Control. The unit is lower than the description, which states cooking height is 32 inches. Actual cooking height is 28” (top of the grate). If you are using this for canning or lobster boils, it probably doesn’t matter. If you are using this stove to cook breakfast at camp, flipping eggs below waist level will probably be inconvenient. But the fact that the description is so inaccurate makes me question the overall veracity of the stove’s description. In the end, I kept this stove, and hope to get many more years of use from it. But I’m disappointed that Camp Chef doesn’t care enough about its products to exercise basic quality control and be honest in the description of their products.

Excellent stove!

Magnificent propane stove, very well made and extremely robust. Pleasantly surprised to find it came with a cast-iron griddle / plate included. Have already used it frequently and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Easy to assemble and use.

This was easy to put together: just pop the legs on, tighten, then turn it over. We tested it out today with the propane tank from our BBQ. Lots of heat from both burners. The airflow adjusters allow you to get the flame a pure blue. This is our emergency cooking stove for the next power outage (outdoor use only) and I feel much more confident now about the next emergency. It is a bit heavy for me to lift (senior woman) but no problem for my husband or for two people. Extreme weather events are getting more and more frequent and I would rather be ready for the next one than have to live on cheese and crackers. You need to have a lighter or matches to light the flame.

Good value.

So far, so good. Only had the camp chef going for a month at our cottage. Have used it about 8 times. Product seems sturdy. Burners seem heavy duty. Easy to adjust the flames. No problems with getting enough heat. Most of the time I am down around the medium setting One bit of advice. Safe some money and buy the bundled package with leveling legs and side shields. I now am going back and ordering these items separately which will end up costing me more.

Déception

Contenue de la boite différent de la présentation sur le site Amazon et de la présentation de la boite. L'appliqué "Camp Chef" sur le coupe vent fait face à l'arrière et le bruleur de droite n'est pas "tagué" en bleu. Cela me fait douté de l'authenticité du produit ou de la version du modële qui ne serait pas l'Explorer 2. Très déçu car le produit est identifié comme étant un choix d'amazon (Amazon Choice).

Es una buena estufa, es completamente rígida, pero se le pueden quitar las patas ya sea para uso sobre alguna superficie (consideraría una mesa o base de metal o concreto ya que emite bastante calor) tiene una buena flama, es fácil de encender y manejar. consideren que es un tanto pesada, por el material que está construida, pero es una buena opción como uso rudo o para hacer alguna comida al aire libre, tiene muy buen espacio para sartenes y ollas grandes. aún no la utilizo fuera, pero en cuanto la use en el campamento actualizaré la valoración. A primera prueba cumplió bastante con las expectativas.
