Great toy, durable, fast, and great springs

This review was written by my 10-year-old son. He used it for two-three months this summer before it broke. Lutema called me last week asking for a review, and since my family relies so much on others’ reviews here, I thought it was our turn to contribute. My son rates the truck 5 stars, but because of the drawbacks he mentions, I would give it 4 stars. Customer Service gets 5 stars, though, as Lutema has offered me an exchange. My son will be thrilled when he finds out! Here is his review: I loved it. I drove it out in the grass, over jumps and through obstacles. It has great turns and the foam wheels can drift on soft ground, or grip rough ground, making it the perfect all terrain vehicle. Along with all this amazing-ness, it sadly broke one day when I was using it outside. I was doing a contest: get through the obstacles and to the other side of the backyard and you win; when suddenly the truck stopped. Since then the remote and truck have never worked. The other problem was my charger didn’t work, so I had to use up all our expensive batteries. Though there were a few problems, I have loved it, and I rate this amazing truck 5 stars. It is a great toy for 3 years and up. Great toy, durable, fast, and great springs. I’ve used a lot of rc, but this beats them all in speed, turns, and strength. It lasted longer than most of my cars. So basically, this truck is awsome, and you should get it if you are looking for a durable, fast and fun rc truck.

Great toy.

This is the second one we have bought. I bought the first for my 5 year old great grandsons b-day and it immediately caused a rift with his 3 year old sister, which is unusual for her. So we purchased one for her. Both arrived with the battery charged enough to use the toy for about an hour. After re-charging according to the instructions it ran for several hours. Both children have seriously tested the toys out by creating off road obstacles out of everything they could think of and playing destruction derby with the. So far the toys have survived well. The only problems they have encountered is the undercarriage is low and the toys don't go over large bits of gravel well and get stuck in dry sand easily. Grass that is longer than a couple of inches can get caught in the wheel base as well. After several weeks of toddler test driving they have held up extremely well with no problems.The instructions do not make it clear that the safety knob on the under carriage needs to be removed with the mini screw driver to remove the battery pack and put it back in. The company contacted me for feedback and when I told them the instructions for removing the battery pack were unclear they said they would make the company that makes the toy aware of this. Overall it is a great toy and well priced.

This review was updated. But since I refuse to retract my comments here is the old review with an update listed below: ***Old**** The front bumper broke first time the kids used it. Doesn't affect function but annoying. More importantly the remote doesn't turn both directions well. The kids have figured out how to work around this, but you have to push the remote forward and towards one side to get it to move forward. Basically the remote works, sometimes... and you have to force it to one side of the front/back direction groove to work properly. The internal light is very bright which I actually like for the kids. ********* Update 1/21/2016********* After seeing my previous review the seller called me on my phone number listed with Amazon. Offered to replace the product and sent me a new one. The remote I got this time works much better. The kids are very happy with the replacement as it is easier for them to use. They haven't broke the front piece off yet, but even if they are able to do that again, like I said previously it would affect function. I think it is worth the price they sell it for, and the customer service after having issues with the first was outstanding. Kudos to them.

Item Did Not Work, But Replacement On The Way

Item did not work using the supplied batteries and battery charger. Too bad I had to tear apart the box to remove the item (it had a screwed in holder which I tore out before I noticed the supplied screwdriver), or I would return it. The battery charger gives no indication that the charging is complete, so I unplugged it after six hours with the red light still illuminated since the battery pack was getting hot. I'll try this with a new set of batteries when I get around to buying some. Since I also purchased the police car by the same brand and that item works, I suspect that the truck may be an outlier, but I would not recommend it at this time. Tried it today with new batteries and it still doesn't work. Update: contacted the seller via Amazon and the seller offered a refund or replacement if I return it using a pre-paid shipping label the seller emailed to me. I chose to give it a second chance. So based on the customer service I'm adding a couple of stars. Best of all, the replacement works great: Blue illumination interior and pretty fast! Still no indication of when the batteries are fully charged -- I'd be sure to disconnect the charger when the batteries get warm.

Great first RC vehicle for a little one

This is a fun little RC truck. We bought it for our 4 year old daughter a few months ago and its held up very well. She even stepped on it once and the front wheel came off but I was able to put it back on with no damage. It's a great first remote control vehicle. Not too fast that it will break when it hits a wall either (frequently for our kiddo!). My only complaints are that the included batteries don't last very long on a charge - buy yourself a good set of rechargeable AAs like Energizer or Eneloops. Also the blue LED that used to light the inside of the truck no longer seems to be working. Finally, the thumbsticks on the controller seem a bit fragile. We had to return the first one we got because one thumbstick was actually broken off out of the box. But the replacement has held up just fine.

Ok but not great

Range is about 20 feet, it doesn't drive straight no matter how much the straightness is adjusted. It turns sharp left and barely turns right. This can be adjusted, but no matter how far the adjustment goes, it's still a dramatic difference between left and right. Original batteries take about 2 hours for full charge and they last about 10 minutes of driving. 2 stars instead of 1 because you really can't expect much at the low price point.

Nada recomendable.

Mal producto, no lo recomiendo muy frágil. Fue regalo de reyes y el mismo día ya no funciono el control de la dirección. Ya solicite el reembolso espero me devuelvan el total del importe, ya que al destaparlo obvio de la emoción mi hijo rompió un poco la caja y lo uso unas horas.
