Just buy them

I got a single pair for a gift and then bought the whole set for myself. There are lots of gimmicks out there but this isn’t one of them.

Cobras are better than other adjustable pliers and worth the cost. Just buy a pair already.

'Ok', But Came With Some Unreasonably Sharp Edges. One Star Demerit

Bought these to replace a lost pair. They're 'ok', but arrived sporting some very sharp jaw edges. One star demerit on account of the edges; it was almost two. For the exorbitant money Knipex asks, I'd think they could at least run them through an abrasive media tumbler for a few hours for hazardous edge mitigation. Review posted 1/15/2021 & will be updated should future experience warrant.

Surprisingly tough tool

Did not expect to use the knipex as I bought it as a standby tool, but found myself using it twice within 3 days. One time was to repair my bent umbrella spoke, as I am always getting the spokes bent, I usually use a conventional plier to bend it back to shape. In those cases, the spoke is still warped and stresses from working it straight with a plier could break it and render the umbrella useless. With the cobra, I could straighten the spoke and remove the warped as it was able to work and squeeze the metal spoke back to shape so less breakage risk. The second time I used it, was removing a plastic plug that was crimped into a aluminium cylinder tube. I was using a lot of force to pinch the plug out, and when it came off, the mouth of the cylinder tube was warped and bent [the plug was really wedged in]. I was surprised that I could apply that much force with a small tool [180cm]. Very impressive.
