Very Solid Wireless Headset
Update 7/7/22: I bought this headset in November '21 and it is still performing wonderfully. No issues whatsoever, build quality is holding up well with daily use of 4-8 hours and games, movies & music still sound excellent on this headset. First off, I want to say that this headset can get LOUD. I pretty much never have to turn the volume above 25/100 whereas with my previous headsets (Arctis Pro, HyperX Cloud Flight, Sony Platinum, TB Stealth 700 and a few others) I typically had no problem maxing out the volume and often needed to. The sound quality on these is excellent, they are high res capable, so they have a frequency range of 20-40,000hz, which is better than most headsets which are usually 20-20,000hz. They have 50mm drivers, 25% larger than a lot of similarly priced headsets. They come with a Dolby Atmos subscription which is great when watching movies in particular. For gaming, I prefer setting my own EQ on the Icue software, which is easy to use and feature-rich. The microphone on this headset really sets it apart from other wireless headsets though. It is by far the best sounding mic I've used on a headset, like it's practically broadcast quality. My friends tell me that I sound like I'm speaking to them in person, there's no compression or distortion, it's really incredible for a wireless mic. Go watch Hardware Canucks review on YouTube if you want to hear it in action. The headset is very comfy as well, feels similar to an Arctis headset, what with the ski-goggle type band at the top and fabric ear cushions instead of leather. They are very well built and sturdy, with a solid plastic band and metal hinges. The earcups can rotate to lay flat on your chest as well. And because they use felt fabric instead of the typical PVC leather on the earcups, they are therefore much cooler and able to be worn for longer times because they don't make your ears warm. They do a pretty good job of blocking outside noise, but they are not noise cancelling so you do get a little leakage, both coming in, and to a lesser extent, going out. The microphone flips up to mute and you can shut off or change the LED color on the mic to signify when it's on or off. Again, the microphone quality is absolutely astounding for a wireless headset, don't listen to the reviews claiming it's too low, I'm pretty sure if that was an issue that a firmware update fixed it because both my best friend and I have never had that problem with our headsets. These really shine in FPS and other games where you need to pay attention to auditory details like footsteps. With the 10-band EQ, you can get things like footsteps sounding incredibly clear by adjusting the bass & treble. Dolby Atmos sounds great in movies and music and does well in games that decode Atmos sound, though I still prefer using the EQ for any competitive gaming. For single player games like God of War or Guardians of the Galaxy, the Atmos is a treat though. I really have only one complaint about this headset and that's the battery life - it's not really a complaint, just a nitpick, but I would've liked a few more hours of battery life. That being said, I still have never needed to charge it in a day, I can always get about 13-15hrs from it, so I just make sure to plug it in every night. You can also put a battery indicator in the notification area of your taskbar so you can always know what level the battery is at, which I think is a very useful feature. Also, the dongle has a pretty cool feature in that you can connect other Corsair devices to it - so if you have a wireless Corsair mouse, you can save a USB port and connect both the headset and mouse to the headset's dongle. And speaking of, the range on these is pretty solid and about the same as other wireless headsets. Zero noticeable latency or lag too, thanks to the Slipstream wireless. I'm able to walk to my bathroom about 20ft away and I still get a signal even though it's going thru 2 walls. It'll occasionally drop out when going thru several walls, but it's got a pretty solid connection and I've certainly never had any problems when I'm in the same room as the dongle - never any static, loss of connection or anything, sound is always crisp and clear when within 10-15ft of the receiver. There is also some RGB on the earcups and mic, but I personally shut it off to save battery life. I mean you can't see the RGB while wearing the headset so the only reason to keep the RGB on is if you're streaming and other people can see it - but if you're alone, do yourself a favor and shut it off or at least turn the brightness down because it'll get you an extra 1-2 hours of battery life. Overall, I can absolutely recommend this headset, it's very well built, sounds great, it's comfy, the mic is incredible, and it feels like it will last a long time. Tl;Dr - excellent headset, sounds great and microphone is incredible.

corsair replaced the dongle that amazon warehouse didn't send me
got this for a pretty good warehouse deal, about $80 with WA tax. it didn't come with the usb c cable or the wireless dongle. i guess someone else lost theirs, and/or needed another cable to charge their phone. i asked amazon for a return label and they forked one over, but i won't be needing it. i asked corsair for a replacement dongle with my hypothesis, a photo of all of the packaging i did receive, a photo of the headset's serial number, and a pdf of my invoice from amazon. after an address confirmation from me and an inventory check from them, they delivered me a slipstream dongle. i suppose i could have asked for a cable but i told them i already had one, and it works just fine. i successfully paired the headset with their iQue software after plugging both the headset and dongle in and enough fiddling. after pairing on my windows pc, removing the dongle and plugging it into my linux laptop, the headset was connected and paired with it instantly (but i did have to manually select the audio device in my system sound settings to pull youtube off of the laptop speakers), so the dongle and headset hardware now are indeed "paired", without necessarily needing the software, which is nice. the close-backed speakers are a little loud so i run windows sound at like 10%. the mic quality is pretty good, but to do a mic check i have to turn the speakers up, risking blasting them when i resume my music after my mic check without turning the sound back down. there is a mic boost in the ique software you can set from 0 to 10. but the quality is pretty good, and you know discord is going to clean it up anyway. in windows, the headset shows up as a wired usb sound device when you plug in a usb-c cable to charge it, side by side with the wireless sound device if you have that set up. by default it ran in 8-channel mode, you might want to set it to 2-channel for less latency in multiplayer gaming. watch the hardware canucks review.

Very good headset, with some drawbacks
It's very well-built and comfortable. Has good sound quality, excellent mic quality and it's very beautiful. The only real cons are: Battery Life - Mine lasts around 8-10 hours with the RGB turned off all the time. I think it's an ok duration but it could be a bit better. Range - Really sensitive. The receiver is installed in the back of my PC and it's pointed to the wall. Just because of that my range almost halves compared to when I put it on the front panel. However, that may be because my house is made of bricks and they can block the signal. Adjustability - It's very comfortable for me, but I don't recommend it if you have a big head, because it's not flexible.

Requires Tweaks
First of all, these headphones IMO sound like garbage out of the box. I connected them to my pc, downloaded ICUE and immediately launched Dead By Daylight. I was underwhelmed. The sound was flat and the sidetone (ability to hear your own voice as you speak) was non-existent. After hours of research in both Reddit and Corsair forums it became apparent that almost everyone who bought these had a similar experience. Don’t give up on them. I’m glad I didn’t. I downloaded Dolby Atmos and configured a custom EQ setting. It comes free with the wireless version of these but the wired version requires a one time $15 fee. Night and day difference in sound. I was amazed at how crisp they now sound. The missing sidetone issue is corrected by turning your game (or whatever app you’re using) volume down and turning the headset up to at least 40%. Viola…sidetone is apparent. If you are willing to tinker with these, they are a great purchase and my rating would have been five star had they sounded like they do now right out of the box. Solidly built, comfortable and customizable.

I watched many reviews on YT and three things annoyed me with this headset
So I watched many reviewers saying how great, how comfy, how good the sound and mic are and well, I have to disagree a little starting by the comfort. I have a small head with a pair of glasses and you feel your glasses are stuck and heavy at the very first moment you put the HS80 on your head. There's no place to breath so if you need a pair of glasses, you might feel some sort of discomfort. You might get used to it after 10 minutes, but it won't last long and the immersion won't last. Sound quality. It's decent. It's a headset and I have Dolby Atmos, but if you use it, you can't use Corsair's app and without the EQ's the sound is kinda meh. Still far superior to the JBL Quantum 800, but my Sony Pulse 3d Headset has a better sound if you use them on your PC which is not normal. Now, the highlight, the microphone. Yes it sounds great, but it's insanely quiet and the microphone isn't build to get closer to your mouth. At first I was sure the microphone sound was at his lowest, but it was at his maximum. I checked on Corsair's app and it was at max rate as well so I did a firmware update and all, nothing changed so if your voice isn't really deep, you may have a hard time with this microphone. I will send them back. I tried to like them, but it didn't work for me.

Awful sound quality. Awful wireless range. Great microphone.
So, I saw multiple reviews of this headset online and I decided to buy it. I needed a headset that had both wired and wireless ability: Wired for my work pc, but wireless for my main gaming pc, which is in my living room. I also wanted a decent mic for work call purposes. As there aren't many good options that achieve all these 3, I decided to spend a little more and get the HS80 (My ideal headset would also support bluetooth, but the only one that checks this boxes that I can buy is the Arctis 9x, and the reviews about connectivity are awful). I know that wireless headsets aren't generally recommended, but I'm no audiophile so I figured it couldn't be so bad, as I even like how my cheap bluetooth Taotronic headphones sound. So I got it, here is a quick review: - Comfort isn't great, very heavy and strong clamping force. I don't love the cloth ear pads either, they are scratchy. - Connectivity is good, both the wired and wireless worked straight out of the box perfectly. - Microphone quality is indeed great in both modes. - Wireless range is a joke. Can't even go to a close by room without constant hiccups. - But, the most important part: Audio quality is atrocious, in every singe mode. Everything thing sounds like a bassy mush where you can't distinguish anything. And the worse part, is that they sound even worse for gaming than they do for music. I tried multiple spatial effects and equalizing settings, but nothing worked. I compared it to the quality out of all the other headphones I own: A wired bluetooth Taotronic ANC headphone, a Koss cheap headphone, and some beats earbuds. They all sounded miles better than the HS80, even wireless through the xbox controller. I seriously can't understand all the good youtube reviews that this headset got. - Couldn't test the battery life as I returned them after just one day.

Ok, but not worth 200$
Sound quality out of the box is OK, sounds radioish though depending on what your listening to and the mids just sound washed out a bit. I created a custom EQ to fix it and again depends on what you listen to but overall the adjustment makes it tolerable for me. The Corsair Void still sounds better to me. Everyone that i asked said the mic sounded really crisp and clear, but background noise was easily picked up including my keyboard and does a poor job filtering that. Otherwise the mic is probably what stands out most with this headset, though I really don't like the retractable arm, just doesnt feel right but thats being nit picky. Turning this thing off and on was one of the most annoying bits. Sometimes i would have to hold the power button 10+ seconds before it responded. idk if mine just has an issue with the button but just doesn't work right or takes too long to do anything. Putting the headset into USB mode to update the firmware was another challenge because of this...process should be a little easier. it kept turning the headset off instead. The awesome part of this headset is the slipstrem functionality and being able to pair it with multiple slipstream devices. I have also a corsair slipstream mouse and i paired it to the usb dongle that came with the headset since it was bigger and removed the smaller one for the mouse from my computer. My mouse seems to work better with the larger receiver than the one it came with but i love this feature and my headset does not seem to be effected by the additional device communicating with the same receiver. Distance on this is ok too, not as good as the Void wireless, but i can still go to the washroom just next door to my office and connection is still good. a little further though and it cuts out. my washroom is about a 12-15 ft journey and thick walls between rooms. the comfort though is where i have the biggest problem. for $200 and it DOESNT have adjustable ear cups? i have a bigger head and i didn't realize this headset didn't adjust. you can adjust the headband a bit but it does not help to bring the headset further down your head. i imagined my entire ear fitting nice and snug inside the ear cup but instead my lower ear hangs out so there isn't a good seal to improve the audio quality. the earcups themselves are really plush, breathable, and comfortable, but because i cant bring it further down my head, i can only keep it on for maybe an hour before i can't stand it anymore and puts pressure on top of my head. for this price, that should have been an included feature. battery life is what you expect for a wireless headset. im not a big fan of RGB and still wonder why they insist on putting it on a headset where you cant even see it. i turn RGB off and the headset luckily lasted me all day, but my old Void wireless is about 2 years old and lasts a couple hours longer than this one. charging it takes a bit longer too in my experience. if this headset was 150$ i could excuse some of these, but this just isn't worth 200$. great mic, but not worth it just for that. im returning the headset though only because i cannot use this longer than hour before i need a decent break from it because of the adjustment issue. if you have a smaller head, this will probably be a great headset for you.

I really love this head set
I got these to replace my dying Astro A50s because I didn't feel like dropping $500+ on a headset. These are the perfect replacement! Every thing I loved about my old A50s these do equally or better; Flip to mute, high quality cloth ear cup covers, wireless with low latency, good quality microphone even when wireless. battery life is great even with the RGB lighting on, I usually only have to charge then about once a week. I also find them much more comfortable after a long game session then my A50s ever were. Only thing they lack is a little boom cover for the mic, so I just ordered one for $1 from china.
