Nice Idea, needs better execution

For years I had a cylinder type garlic press that was effective and easy to clean. After it finally gave up the ghost I looked for something similar and then found this. I had hopes, but have been disappointed. First thing, be careful when unpacking and when ever you clean it. The piece that actually presses the garlic is not attached to the piece you turn, rather they are two pieces with one sitting on the other. The piece that presses is small and can easily get lost. if you think the garlic goes in the top, you would be wrong, it goes in from the bottom and you need to push in the press piece to use it. The little attached cover on the bottom is cute, but actually get in the way of clearing the pressed garlic, which is more minced than pressed. Final note, get something else. This is not the answer.

Better than a garlic press

I have used this product for years, and recommend it highly. I have had surgery on my right hand and have lost some strength in that hand. Therefore, I cannot use a traditional garlic press. I am so fortunate that I found this product which does the job perfectly. Some people complain it is difficult to remove the press head located inside the cylinder. I recommend using a chopstick to push it out. I cannot comment on the newer model, since my original model continues to work fine ( I have had it for years and use it often).

My most used kitchen gadget

This is a real time and effort saver. To be effective, it can really only handle one clove at a time. And you have to empty it every 1-2 cloves or it stops working. The cone keeps the garlic skins contained for the most part so it doesn’t make a mess. And it can be turned inside out for cleaning. I’m very happy with the cone garlic roller and I recommend it highly.

Great for peeling garlic

I never heard about Garlic Rollers, but I'm so glad my SO bought one for our kitchen. I've enjoyed the ease and cleanliness of using this so much, I ordered one to be sent to my parent's house so my mom can enjoy it too. It makes peeling garlic fast and my hands don't end up smelling like the stuff all day.

Chef'n Garlic Machine/Press

Surprisingly good. It is all plastic, but the design does not seem to put undue strain on just one pivot point, as do most presses - which often break. It also has a built-in cutter on the bottom to cut off squeezed pulp. I gave this one a 4-star, since it does have one little problem: when I go to clean it, it is difficult to get the press-head out of the tube. A long skewer works to pop it out, but they should have built it so that it would pop out by removing the bottom and turning the press handle a little more. "Annoying" but not a deal-killer. For the price, it's pretty good - so far.

Not as good as the previous model

Bought this to replace my broken one... My fault. In this newer model the plunger does not withdraw as far and stops 2/3 of the way down as the barrel narrows for some reason towards the base, this does not allow for as much garlic to be inserted. It doesn't have the handy swivel "blade" that takes the garlic off the end but uses the lid to do this which is stiff to slide and really difficult when your hands are wet. The only advantage of this model is that the bottom unscrews to allow easy access for cleaning. I wish I had searched for the older better model!

Brilliant garlic crusher

I bought this garlic as a present and a 2nd one at my caravan. I absolutely love it! Have been searching for one for quite a while as I couldn't remember where I bought mine from. Highly recommend.
