Not a toy

My son is interested in science, and they use Microscopes in school. He saw this on Amazon and asked if he could have it, and I was very sceptical, thinking it was just a toy, and would end up being just like a plastic magnifying glass, but boy were we surprised. It is really a fun, useful tool. We have been running around the house just looking for things to look at under this thing. The price is really amazing considering how portable it is and how well it magnifies. I would buy this again and I'm glad I decided to buy it this time. My son is happy, and we are enjoying it. Also thanks to Amazons return policy that we can try something like this without worrying about returning if it isn't as advertised, but thank goodness it is really cool, fun and useful.

Wow

At the same time that I purchased this Pocket Microscope (Carson 60-120x), I also purchased a 4" paring knife. There is a very small black spec on the middle of the knife's blade (logo side). It will not clean up? Using this microscope I could clearly see a small pit in the blade with an even smaller dark triangle in the pit. There is rust (red-brown) staining in and around the pit. I'm not sure about keeping (?) this knife, but this pocket microscope is really good! Looking through it - the smooth flat blade is transformed into a sea of diagonal, left to right ridges, crossed by other diagonal right to left ridges - covering both sides of the blade with one small, shallow pit containing a particle of rusting iron. Wow. I'm not sure what additional use I will have for this microscope, but I have been very impressed with it's initial use. I's hard for me to believe that something this inexpensive ($15) can deliver an image so sharp! Additionally, I like the AA battery power, the size, feel and ease of use. Five stars!

Not perfect

The lens has minor artifacts that make it less than perfect visually, unfortunately it's dead center. They work well and are acceptable at this price point

Amazing

This is very clear, zoom is pretty darn good for the price you just can't beat it. Only thing is I wish it was rechargeable and that it came with a lanyard or something. It does have a spot to be avle to install one though so that is very helpful. PERFECT FOR KIDS. AND ADULTS who am I kidding. For about an hour after being delivered I sampled them before giving them to my kids lol definitely will be buying one for myself and recommending it to my family.

Pretty amazing

I bought this for 4 year old originally but he’s probably badly not quite old enough for it. I’ve been using it instead and think it’s pretty amazing. Here’s a picture of how you can see the details of the body of the tiniest of ants.

It cost less than a tenner!!...so I really wasn't expecting too much, so imagine my surprise when this little beauty came...I was really pleased with the quality for such a low cost scope, obviously it can't compete with my desktop or digital binocular microscopes I have but then they cost a few hundred pounds...this one was for carrying in my backpack and for that it is perfect....some folks have said they have difficulty focusing...what I do is put it on a flat surface and focus it in on a piece of paper (the text) and usually leave it set, then when I come to look at something I find it easier to just raise and lower the scope little amounts to get the subject in focus instead of turning the wheel and that seems to work for me 99% of the time, and I also like the fact it uses a normal battery and not one of the button batteries that some LED's use, speaking of which...it is a well powered LED not one of the little crappy dim ones that barely light the subject up, this one has more than enough power and on more than one occasion I have used it as a little torch to find stuff in the dark, that should tell you something of the power...So basically if your looking for a top performance scope this one is not for you, go and spend a few hundred quid and get a proper one...but...if you just want something to take on the trail with you in case you come across anything interesting and you need to just (have a nosey) then this is right up your street...it may take a short time to get used to it but once you do you will love it...I did...all the best and happy er...er...scoping.???...

Preis - Leistung unschlagbar!

Ich bin kein passionierter Rezensionsschreiber, aber in diesem Fall muss ich! Ich habe zwei große Mikroskope (bin Biologe), aber das kleine Taschenmikroskop ist unschlagbar praktisch (eingebaute Beleuchtung) und die Bildqualität mehr als akzeptabel. Klare Kaufempfehlung! (bei dem Mohnkorn, das ich hier fotografiert habe, muss man bedenken, dass es ja dreidimensional ist. Bei flachen Objekten ist das Bild bis zum Rand extrem scharf.)

Sehr kopakt, gute Optik, perfekt!

Das Taschenmikroskop ist für sehr viele Bereiche eine günstige, handliche und sehr brauchbare Alternative zu einem richtigen Tischmikroskop. Die optische Abbildung ist sehr gut bis in den Randbereich und es hat den großen Vorteil, dass man es frei auf jeder halbwegs ebenen Oberfläche platzieren kann und gleichzeitig die Vergrößerungsleistung diejenige einer Uhrmacherlupe um ein vielfaches übersteigt. Man kann mit etwas Geschick sogar sehr brauchbare Aufnahmen mit der Smartphone-Kamera machen. Als Beispiel habe ich zwei Aufnahmen einer Schneide nach dem groben Vorschliff und nach dem Feinschliff angefügt.
