A Reasonable Replacement
I am running a 15 year old Billy Goat lawn mower driven by a "13 HP" Briggs and Stratton engine. The lawn mower is very heavy duty (and very heavy) and the engine pushes it around with ease. The darned thing is just so loud! I assumed the 15 year old muffler was worn out, so I ordered this replacement without doing any further troubleshooting. The replacement soon arrived and visually compared nicely with the original. I soon set about swapping them. The old one came loose reasonably easily without any damage. As soon as I had it in my hands I couldn't help notice a glaring difference from the new one. The old one weighed about 2 X what the new one weighed! I also soon noticed that I couldn't see any visible degradation of the old one, and that the new one didn't appear to be much different from the old one. I decided to try the new one anyway, hoping for some new "magic" innovation in noise suppression. The new one bolted on very easily, although I did have to bend a support bracket ever so slightly to get it bolted on - the pre-drilled mounting hole in the bracket was off location by about 1/8th inch - nothing a little bend wouldn't take care of. I soon had it mounted, and fired up the engine (it starts very easily). To my consternation the darned engine sounded just like it always did! I thought about it, and ultimately decided I had wasted my money buying the new muffler. I unbolted the completely undamaged new muffler and bolted the old one back on, both operations taking no longer than 5 minutes. I reviewed my options with Amazon and set about returning it for credit. I was charged about $8.00 for returning, but the process was simple. In conclusion, there was no way I could have been sure a new muffler would be no improvement over the old muffler without being able to compare them, so I am happy I did it. It is only an opinion, but I seriously doubt the new "lightweight" muffler would have lasted 15 years like the old heavy duty one has. It cost me $8.00, but I have to say the Amazon process was painless and very efficient.

Not exactly correct, but made it work.
The muffler wasn’t the correct part like it says, but I didn’t need that part, just the spool piece between the muffler and the engine. Everything else fit perfectly.

Overall nice item
Had a hard time getting this but finally came in and is a good product. Just like what I had before that had rusted out over the years (engine is on a salt spreader) so that was hard on it. Fit nicely and pleased with it.

Good muffler
I will give it five stars, but I would prefer that it came with a deflector. If you order this and want to reduce the sharp tinging sound; order the deflector with it.

Excellent Fitment
I used this muffler on my Craftsman zero turn Briggs and Stratton engine. The original was missing an exhaust extension so i opted to buy this muffler assembly instead. It came out perfect.
