Yost copies the best
Across the board, Yost seems to specialize in using Chinese manufacturing to copy the best older products: things like Eclipse and Jorgensen quick-release vises and Jorgensen/Pony pipe clamps. In some cases the original manufacturer still makes the product but they also moved to China. I have 10 of these pipe clamps and they work great. Many others are more expensive but not any better, and the truly better ones cost a lot more. Don't buy long pipes for these. Buy 2-3 foot pipes to cover 99% of your clamping needs. When you really need long clamps, buy threaded pipe couplers and put your pipes together!

Very impressed for the price! Almost 30% less than the Ponys.
I Have been a professional woodworker for almost 40 years and have found the Yost 1/2" pipe clamp to be every bit as reliable in strength, function, and articulation as the Pony/Jorgensen model. These clamps are almost identical in appearance from the castings, to the three plate clutch on the tail section, to the acme threads and the sliding "vise style" t-bar tensioning handle. There may have been issues in the past with imagery but, I received exactly what was pictured. The 1/2" have the slider bar handle and the 3/4" have the cast handle, same as the Pony clamps. I purchased eight clamps and had no issues with mis-threaded ends. If your new to woodworking DO NOT apply grease to the threads, as one reviewer had suggested, as it ends up all over you and your project. It will also attract dust which causes binding, the grease will cause more harm than good. With performance and appearance being equal to the Pony clamps, I would much rather have four of Yost clamps than three of Ponies for the same money any day of the week. Great performance and great value these are the way to go.

Good clamp. How to save money on pipe.
Clamp head mounted easily on threaded end of 3/4-inch black pipe. Slider end mounted easily and stayed put. These Yost pipe clamps seem to be as good as some Irwin pipe clamps I've had for years. They provide versatility because they can be moved from short pipes to long pipes depending on what you're doing. You only need one threaded end on the pipe since the slider part needs no threads. To save money on pipe, buy a long piece that is threaded on both ends. Cut in two pieces. That gives you pipe for two clamps. Around here the cost per foot of a 10-foot length of pipe is slightly less than half the cost per foot of a 4-foot piece. Consider putting a crutch tip on the unthreaded end. This should reduce slipping and falling when stood on end. It also reduces the chance of a puncture wound if the open end falls on someone or someone falls on the open end.

Get them, they are great!
These clamps are super strong and well built. They hold more pressure than the average woodworker will ever need and they are useable in several different ways for sure. It is true that the handles for the 1/2in are a different design than the pictures show. The 3/4in are just like the one in the pictures. I bought both sizes and to be honest I'm not sure if I'll ever really have a need for clamps as strong as the 3/4in. Heck, the 1/2in are kind of overkill. I really think they can exert enough pressure to bend an average bar clamp in half. I'd never used pipe clamps before these. When mine came in I put some bearing grease on the threads and put them to work right away on 36in bars. Overall I'm very impressed with these clamps (both sizes) and Yost is the one to stick with if you're a garage woodworker. I'll be getting several more sets! You cannot argue with the price.

Ok
Only purchased these because Amazon limits purchase of Bessey pipe clamps to five, and I needed to create two sets for a glue up project on short notice. Side by side, no comparison between the two. If I never used or had Bessey might be different. Spend a couple dollars more and get the Red ones! These will be relegated to short clamp up use in the future.

One little flaw
I cannot find the 1/2" Jorgensen clamps anywhere so I am looking for a suitable substitute. This came close but a cheap brass or some soft metal pin that holds the screw to the moving clamp keeps this one from being the one. The pin broke the first time I tightened it so now it is a three piece clamp that has to be put back together every time I use it. The holding power is as good as the Jorgensen and I will continue to use it but still looking for a suitable substitute.

I'd recommend a better design
The clamps are strong but are not really designed for the user. I needed 2 pair to use once so no big deal. If you are going to use these every day, I'd recommend a better design. These have very short clamping metal pads where they touch the work. Turn style does not have an ability to slide the part you actually turn. The old style has a hole you can push the turn style through when you are in a tight spot, this one is very limiting. The actual screw threads on the bolt part are spaced far apart which means you must use more force than if the threads were fine. There is more resistance with these screw threads because it tightens faster per turn. I would not buy if I had a lot of work to do with them.

Sirven pero no son muy buenas
Son útiles pero no de uso rudo ni muy duraderas, compre 3. Una de ellas se le zafó el remache que sostiene la placa superior apenas después de un mes de uso, otra funciona bien y la tercera al apretar empuja disparejo así que necesito usar un pedazo de madera grueso para que distribuya la fuerza del empuje más parejo

Difícil encontrar las barras
no les recomiendo este producto, dado que los tubos de media pulgada, aun los de cédula gruesa, quedan muy holgados en orificios. los tubos de1/2" quedan muy pequeños, mientras que los de 3/4", quedan exactos, pero la rosca queda pequeña. por lo que respecta al material, si se ve resistente.

El producto es robusto pero de las 4 piezas que compré, una estaba barrida. Otro punto negativo es que el clutch viene mas abajo de los soportes así que no permite apoyar dichos soportes en una superficie

Great clamps
These are great clamps. I like the 3/4” over the 1/2” because they are more rigid. I have 6 of these and they are great. Also, they work out to be less than 1/2 the cost of the Besseys even after buying the pipe.
