Leaks on Caterpillar skid loader

Wix 51494 was a cross referenced hydraulic oil filter for a Caterpillar 1G-8878, which fits Caterpillar 216 skid loader and others. The Wix replacement does not seat the gasket, and leaks, even after full tightening. Thinking the oil filter was defective, tried another Wix 51494 filter, same results. Ended up purchasing the OEM Caterpillar 1G-8878, all good. Have used wix filters for years, with good performance, this one may have not been spec'd exactly for the Caterpillar 216 skid loader hydraulic systems.
