Exactly what I needed
These light bulbs are exactly what I needed. I searched for a long time to find a bulb that met all of my criteria. It had to be on the small side, around 40 watts, and be able to be used in an enclosed fixture. The light fixtures I needed it for are attached to the ceiling, so it is not easy to change the bulbs! I wanted a bulb that would last for years before needing to be changed. I decided that I really wanted LED bulbs that don't contain any mercury and that use very little energy. That was when I realized that most LED bulbs cannot be used in an enclosed fixture!! I started searching for an alternative before I realized that LED bulbs that can be used in an enclosed fixture DO exist!! I was searching through the most recognized brand names that all said that they couldn't be used that way. Every time I thought that I had found the perfect bulb, I was disappointed when it said that it couldn't be used in an enclosed fixture. I finally started googling LED bulbs that can be used in an enclosed fixture. That is when I finally found some of them. Most of them were from brands that I never heard of, so I was so happy when I found some Westinghouse bulbs!! When I saw this bulb, I was so thrilled to discover that it was exactly what I was looking for! It was a small A15 sized bulb with a regular medium base. It gives 40 watts of light and only uses 5 watts of energy!! It lasts for 15,000 hours, over 13 years of use!! I immediately ordered 4 of them. They were packed so extremely well, with 3 layers of protection! There was an outer box, an inner box, and each bulb was in its own very hard plastic protective shell, so they all arrived in perfect condition. I put one of them in my hallway light fixture and it gives off the perfect amount of soft yellow-white light. I am so glad that I was able to find exactly what I needed!

No more constantly replacing cheap bulbs!
When the light above the stove went out, I figured I should go ahead and find an LED bulb to replace it with. I've been slowly replacing all the incandescent bulbs in my apartment with LED bulbs, not just for the energy savings but because I can't stand constantly having to change burnt out lights. This one fit the fixture perfectly, as expected, and I love that it's not glass -- much less fragile to handle. As is true of all the LED bulbs I've tried, it seems just a bit brighter with a more even distribution of light. The retail package it came in was a bit of a nightmare to get open. I cut the cardboard along the line marked on it, and there was still no way to open it. I ended up peeling back layers of cardboard until I could finally get a knife through it without damaging the bulb, and then I finally managed to get it out. As annoying as that was, I don't think it will be a problem for most people, but if you have arthritis or limited use of your hands, you're going to need some help. Overall, this is an awesome buy, especially at the add-on price I got it for. Even if it only lasts half as long as it's supposed to, I should get a good decade of use from it -- no more constantly replacing bulbs!

Only Light We Could Find For 2 Different Uses
I collect rain lamps that I rebuild and most of the time a replacement bulb is required and it is a PAIN to replace it once it has been rebuilt and back in operation so I wanted a LED light that was soft light because too bright looks cheap in these expensive lamps and so after a few abortive attempts I stumbled upon these and I now have them in all my rainlamps and hope they outlast me. Just recently we bought a couple of old Coca-Cola Tiffany type lamps and the shades sat so low that no standard light bulb would work but I remembered these from my rainlamps and they fit perfectly (these bulbs are shorter than standard bulbs) and the softlight brings out the many colors and designs in the lampshades without washing them out so 5 Stars for a great product that really saved me some headaches.

Nice bulb, warm hue, multi-purpose use, if you do not need dimmable.
Bulbs arrived on time, well-packaged, and in good working order. A "science" note that I learned from investigating LED units: Some are NOT intended for enclosed fixtures or recessed can lights, because, apparently, if even a moderate amount of heat builds up in the screw-thread end of the bulb, the LED assemblage can get fried or fail to work. I was searching for a bulb that was outdoor rated (for outdoor-rated fixtures not directly exposed to water), could be used indoors (obviously), and was OK in enclosed fixtures or recessed can lights. This bulb seemed to tick all the boxes and has a good temperature rating (about 2700 Kelvin, which yields a warmish, golden-tinged glow, as opposed to the unpleasant white/blue/gray of higher temperatures of 4000 or 5000). PLEASE NOTE this bulb did NOT list dimmable, as a feature, as best I recall (have thrown away packaging), so, if you need a dimmable one, be sure to check out the product on the Westinghouse website or read the fine print, here, on Amazon. I need only single-power bulbs for my application, but don't recall this unit being dimmable. Just a caution.

Works Great In the Fridge
The lights in my 10 year old budget model refrigerator finally burned out and I wanted LED replacement bulbs. I purchased these bulbs because they have the correct A15 size and medium base. They are rated for damp locations which important for fridge duty. I bought the four-pack for the lower unit cost, as I expect to use the other bulbs in appliances in the future. Note that while they are LED and have lower energy compsumption and heat generation than a traditional incandescent bulb, they are non-dimmable and may not be compatible with some higher-end refrigerators. Made in China.

Bright white light
Bought 2 as replacement bulbs for our fridge’s incandescent bulbs. Arrived well packaged against breakage. Installed 1 last week and 1 yesterday. Both work well. Cool to the touch. Nice bright white light.

Can't even tell they are LED bulbs!
These bulbs have a pleasing color temperature and perform very much like the old incandescent bulbs they replaced, but at a much lower cost. And, just like the old incandescent bulbs, one of them stopped working after 3 days! Should have bought 6-pack.

Good size for outdoor fixture
The a15 form was what I needed for outdoor light fixtures. The bulb is small enough that it does not hang out of the fixture as an a19 bulb would. The light is a good 40w incandescent equivalent with warm glow....they are just what I needed for these older style fixtures.
