Great Daytime Running Light!
I purchased this light for daylight to dusk use to make me more visible to motorists who are notorious for not paying attention in the suburban area that I ride in. Other users had given this light very good reviews and it also is powered by 2 traditional AAA batteries which I preferred to the problematic USB rechargable lights that gradually lose power over time permanently. The first thing I did was remove and trash the Chinese batteries that came with the unit and replaced them with Duracell AAA16 batteries. The light has 3 modes - low beam, high beam and flashing mode. After a months use riding an hour a day using the flashing mode, the lights output appears to be the same as when I first put Duracells in. As stated, the flashing mode is a real attention grabber for motorists and, as an added bonus, will also supply the longest battery life. Keep in mind that if you use this after dark you'll likely out-pedal your view of the road ahead - this should be considered a daytime running light only, as that it what it really excel's at. For your money, this is a quality piece that offers an extra enhancement of safety and it's a great investment for those who mainly enjoy daytime suburban riding. I highly recommend it!

overall well made but not so bright
I chose this one over higher end lights because I wanted a light that uses ordinary AA batteries. The product itself is well designed & constructed. Mounting system is well constructed & easy to use too. But one thing to keep in mind, light is not bright enough to use on completely dark roads. To be more precise, light output is ok but beam pattern is too narrow so it's hard to rely on this light alone in night time riding. I also got an AMPP400 from Cat Eye, which is similar sized & priced but with reachargeable batteries. I think Cat Eye is a much better choice, offers much brighter light(150 lumen vs 400 lumen), with much wider beam coverage.

Brilliant light, and with alkaline batteries it'll always be ready to go
It's astounding to me how hard it is to find a good bike light that isn't rechargeable these days. While the environmental issues of rechargeable are undeniable, if you are an occasional/spontaneous rider rather than a daily commuter you really need a light that'll be ready when you are, even if you haven't remembered to plug it in the night before. The good folks at Planet Bike have met this need. This light is bright enough for riding at speed in the night, and also bright enough to be visible to cars during the day. The flashing mode, with white light ahead and amber on the sides, is perfect as a safety beacon. And with the batteries, it'll be ready when you are. Good solid mount that is easy to move from one bike to another, and accommodates a variety of handlebar diameters. I definitely recommend this light!

Nice Light
Nice quality light. I only use it as a "be seen" blinker when riding city pavement. Battery life seems fine. After depleting the supplied alkaline set, I've been using rechargeable Eneloops. Since I have a handlebar bag on my commuter bike I had to fashion a fork blade mount stub using PVC pipe and M5 hardware and the fork's rack boss.

Reliable, water-resistant, AA-powered light
I have 4 of these. This light is simple, works reliably, is water-resistant for rainy weather, and is quite bright for an AA-battery-powered light (meaning you can have spare batteries with you). One light developed a problem (still worked, but not as smooth), and was replaced under warranty (good experience)
