Large shoulders

Beautiful material that wears well. Also a beautiful blue color. Unfortunately I had to return it because it was very long and large in the shoulders. I am 5 foot seven and 142 pounds. The top portion was too large.

Beautiful, Quality MOB dress!

04/23: I love this dress and can’t wait to wear it as my MOB dress at my daughter’s wedding next month. It is an Alex Evening, so the style and quality are on point. The color is beautiful and very flattering. I’m 5’1” and with a 3” heels it only needs slight hemming and taken up a little on the shoulders. The fabric drapes beautifully and is so soft and comfortable. As the MOB, I was concerned the side slit would be too high but it isn’t. It stops at or about an inch above the knee. Big +, I can wear a regular bra with it too. The brooch at the waist is not detachable, but it’s pretty and I will wear some dangling black stone earrings and bracelet. It’s just what I was looking for. Highly recommend!

Beautiful, stretchy and flattering

I bought this dress, along with too many others, as options to wear to my Daughters wedding. (I am on the right of the pic) I wasn’t feeling very good about how I looked. I have put on a significant amount of weight over the last several years. This was the one dress that I felt confident in! It’s formal, stretchy and flattering especially for a full figured woman. I imagine it will look just as good on any size. You can’t go wrong with this gown. Just pick your favorite color! The eggplant color was gorgeous.

Runs a bit large

This is a beautiful well made dress, how ever it ran a bit large and the cut made me look vary frumpy! I have to return it.

Most comfortable formal wear!!!

I bought this for my nephew's wedding. It is formal/black tie optional. This dress is perfect for the occasion. The material is soft and flows well. There is some stretch to it which will be good for comfort during the wedding and allow movement for dancing and socializing at the reception. Only minimal alterations are needed (photo is dress right out of the box) and I don't have shoes on. Definitely a good quality for this price range. The purple hue is beautiful. I did find this dress in a high end department store in navy blue and a size too small, it was twice the price. The navy is also very dark and appeared black in some light. I haven't attended the event yet, but so far I'm very happy with this dress.

Looked great for Mother of the Groom

Eggplant color/size 20. I'm 5'5" 240 lbs. I think the dress ran big. I had it taken up about 1 1/2-2 inches and wore it with kitten heels. The drape was very flattering. The only problem was the shoulders kept slipping all night, showing my slip/bra straps. Very uncomfortable. I also carried a purple/paisley pashima to cover my shoulders for this midwestern winter wedding. Here's the thing... I just noticed now (3 days after the event) that there were snaps at the shoulder that I could have fastened around my bra straps to prevent slipping. Wish I had seen them earlier. It's still a great dress for a plus size woman though.

Alex Evenings Redemption from the spirit of “frumpiness”!

This dress is shockingly flattering given my recent experience with a purchase from Alex Evenings. It is not matronly or frumpy, actually quite flattering especially if you have a smaller bodice and hips for days :) flattering a line for all body types. You can add a belt to the grey one for added shaping. I like the dress but considering a different colour. The grey glitter dress leaves glitters EVERYWHERE - not a deal breaker if you don’t mind leaving some angel dust. I think I will just get a different colour but excellent purchase. Also, the size 10 petite was too big for me! Awww… Alex Evenings, you flatter a girl. Down to size 8 petite then.

Very nice dress, well made, not heavy but will good density.

This has been purchased for Mother of Groom. Have not worn yet but know I will be very comfortable in it. I like the ruching in back as it hides any bulges from bra.

Beautiful material and fit!

Even with a built in bra, which usually never fit me properly. Very happy with my purchase! I wear 38DD cup, so not easy to fit. I can also wear my bra and I definitely need to!
