Tusco Products GP31WTC Garland Garden Planter, 31-inch, Washed Terra Cotta My planter is 8 years old and looks new. I have a Palm tree in the planter and has grow very tall Good sturdy planter for the money Will last 10 years or longer depending on where you live.

Tusco Garland Planters

The first planter came in with some dings in the garland design areas. Nothing you would notice at a distance, and does't look like it will effect the integrity of the planter. It was packaged in a cardboard box. The second planter arrived in much better condition, just packaged in a plastic bag type material. Go figure? Overall I think the planters look very nice, and the two are consistent in color. They are fairly thick, and hopefully will hold up to the outdoor elements for a long time. The rims are just folded over materials, don't know what difference that makes. Drilling holes in the bottom didn't cause any issues even though the holes I drilled were larger then the given indents, citrus need good drainage. I drilled an extra hole in the center without issue. Overall, love the design, and the craftmanship seems pretty good. Thick enough walls to be fairly strong. Will see, but so far happy with this purchase. Was what I was looking for, for that little touch of Italy for my citrus trees. They come with what I understand to be a ten year warrenty, which is pretty impressive for a plastic pot. Time will tell. But as far as I know Tusco in smaller sizes is carried by nuseries such as Armstrongs, that recomend them. They are lightweight enough that I can handle them without issue. I'm sure by the time I get them planted, they will be pretty heavy, but not as heavy as traditional terracota. I have some glazed vietnamese pottery that is beautiful but a nightmare to move or repot, ie. Bonsai, rootprune. I give the containers 4 stars rather then 5 because I don't know what their lifespan is of yet, or how the materials will weather over time. I do know both pots are consistent and beautiful, and hopefully will contain my citrus trees for many years to come.

Lightweight and decorative

I was happy to find this product because it's so hard to find classical-style decor these days. The planter is extremely lightweight which really helps because the dirt itself adds so much weight. I wish it came in red but we spray painted it and it looks gorgeous. Only time will tell if the paint will last on the surface over time. If you do not plan to paint it, you may want to know that the color is light peach and it is definitely "washed" terra cotta.

The mold used to make this pot is excellent. It required some light painting and aging. But looks great now.

Gorgeous planter!

This is a gorgeous planter in a classic style we have paid 3 or 4 times as much from a renowned garden store in the area. Love it so much I've bought multiples in various sizes and plan to buy more! One caveat: The location for the drain holes is recessed, but not punched through. This takes a bit of effort but is an important step if you are using it with live plants. Previously I just used an awl, but find a 1/2" wide drill bit meant for masonry does a better, faster job.

Not inexpensive, but much cheaper than buying at local nursery for $300+

Decent looking and sturdy. The light(when empty) weight makes it MUCH easier to move around.
