Great looking and solidly built, but with design flaw(s) which make installation more difficult than it should be.
As most others have reviewed, this fixture is very nicely built and very good looking...thought the image somewhat makes it appear that the glass is crackled grass (which it's not). It's frosted glass. The glass is fairly heavy, making it somewhat difficult (awkward) to remove and replace bulbs...as you need to hold the glass firmly along with the frame to be able to insert the 4 screws. But it's doable. However, there is one significant flaw in how the lamp is wired. The wires should be threaded through the center of the fiberglass insulating mat...so that they so that they don't end up rubbing against the top plate (assuming you use that) or any other plate that may already be in place. But they come with the wires poking through separate holes on the outer edges of the fiberglass insulation mat. Not sure how UL would approved this design, but I can see why the manufacturer did this. To try and prevent the fiberglass mat from twisting during install. But it does that anyway, and it's not much of a solution. The fiberglass mat is quite thick, which as others have noted greatly (and unnecessarily) complicates the install process. Because you have to keep the holes in that thick (moving) mat lined up...compressing it to get the long screws to push though the mat (to the bottom plate). And that mat very much wants to twist and move. Since the mat ends up being grossly compressed anyway (compared to how it starts out), it's silly for the manufacturer to use uncompressed fiberglass. I guess it was cheaper. But it does make the install much more difficult that it otherwise should be. But as I know the existing configuration is unsafe, I changed the design to route the wires into the center of the mat, via an additional hole I created. That worked much better and made sure the wires ended up where they needed to be...in the center of where the fixture attaches to the ceiling plate. As I said, this fixture is very attractive and was worth all the hassle of installing it. At least for me. But the inherent design flaws cause me to mark it down 1 star.

It's perfect. I bought one and decided i liked it ...
I've been looking for lighting that was a modern, industrial, doesn't leave the bulb glaringly exposed, and affordable. The only affordable light that i kept seeing are the schoolhouse lights and they just seem so "overdone" at this point. I changed my search criteria to look at outdoor lights and found this. It's perfect. I bought one and decided i liked it so much i would change out the lights in my kitchen and went ahead and bought two more. The glass globes are nice, thick, and frosted. The light creates a nice glow rather than the harsh lighting associated with exposed bulbs. The light is fairly easy to install. The only "problem" with the install is that the light has a lot of insulation and i had a bit of a hard time lining up the screws from my fixture receptacle with the holes in the light's base because of it. The total time from switching the power off until it was back on and bulbs were burning was about 15 minutes. Installed, it looks much more expensive than the $31 price point.

Love these. Installed 3 on the patio. A bit smaller than I expected.
Really nice looking

Nice product for the price
I read several reviews before purchasing this light. Several said it was hard to install. I have some carpentry experience and had the old porch light down and this one up in about 15 minutes. It installs just like any other ceiling mounted light fixture. If you have any experience with mounting ceiling lights, this will be easy. As for the light quality, it is decently built. My only concern is if the glass globe would break, you probably cant find a replacement. I have never seen this size and shape before. As long as I don't do anything dumb like drop the globe while changing bulbs (Knock on wood) this should be a great light.

Attractive, affordable lighting fixture
I was hesitant to puchase this product after some of the reviews stating it was so difficult to put up. Decided to give it a shot and try it anyway. I beleive that the insulation being as thick as it is (which is a good thing) is probably what is giving others trouble lining up the screws. Take your time lining up the screws and compressing the insulation enough to install the fixture and you will find it is really not hard to install at all. They are very attractive when installed (ours are under a car port) give off a good amount of light, and are a nice size. Have not had them long enough to rate how the finish will hold up, and will update this review if there are any problems.

Had to get longer screws to install it
Instructions are very clear, illustrations or not easy to understand. Had to get longer hardware to install it. But it is a sturdy and beautiful looking light

Good product
Nice product, but a bit tricky to install due to the insulation on the back of the fixture. Had to use a second set of hands. That said, it's a very nice fixture and a great addition to my porch renovation.
