Excellent Flashlight
I’ve owned two of these flashlights and have very few complaints. I work as a diesel mechanic so all of my tools take a beating. My first one of these flashlights lasted nearly 5 years before giving any issues. It finally began to have intermittent problems with the button and battery retention spring. I was impressed enough that I purchased a second identical light and immediately put it into service. The light is a handy size, produces excellent light output for its size, is rugged (mine is often used as a small hammer), and simple. The single function, simple on/off switch is a huge selling point for me. I don’t need or want multiple light levels or a strobe. For my work I need the light to come on, and function as expected every time I press the button. Unfortunately this simple design is becoming increasingly difficult to find in quality flashlights. The AA battery power source is extremely convenient and in my usage last roughly 1-2 weeks before becoming too dim to be useful (your mileage may vary). I’ve used both traditional alkaline batteries as well as Energizer Lithium AAs in my light and had zero major issues with either. The lithium batteries provide more consistent light output over a longer period of time. However for me this wasn’t necessarily a positive, as the light would suddenly die giving me no indication that the batteries were nearing the end of their life. The alkaline batteries slowly dim as they draw down giving you a very visible and obvious indicator as to when you should change your batteries. This isn’t an issue with the light however, just a fact of life when using lithium batteries. My only real complaints are with the light’s lens and the nylon holster. If you plan to use the holster go ahead and replace it with a nicer option. In my experience the nylon holsters quickly broke apart and began to shred, eventually falling completely apart (often within the first few months of use). I upgraded to a custom leather holster that has lasted for years now. Next, the lens on the light is plastic. This is a plus when considering impact resistance as you’ll likely never break it. However if you work in the automotive industry be very careful using brake cleaner or carb cleaner to wipe the light down. Both chemicals will immediately cause the lens to fog up. This negatively affects the light’s output and beam pattern. If you’re looking for a daily use work light or EDC light look no further. This flashlight will serve you well for many years.

Just the compact AA flashlight I was looking for!!
I’ve been using the Mini Mag-Lite AA for many years but I always seem to have issues with it staying on once the batteries start to get to approx 1/2 capacity or less. It’s been an ongoing issue with several AA mini mags I currently own. I finally decided to try something different. I purchased the Streamlight Junior and I’m glad I did! I like the build quality and appearance of the Streamlight Junior. It’s almost identical in size to the AA Mini Maglite so it will work well in confined spaces. I liked the Streamlight Junior so much I bought 2 of them. I believe the issue with the AA mini mag lite was the tail cap not making a solid enough ground causing the light to dim or flicker once the battery was worn down bit. Since the Streamlight Junior has a different tail cap design than the AA mini mag I don’t believe it will have that issue. I highly recommend the Junior Streamlight to anyone needing a bright, reliable, & durable compact flashlight!

Great flashlight!
I have two of these and can recommend them. They are much much better than hardware store brand flashlights.

Built like a tank!
This little flashlight is all that stands between me and darkness. I use it on the job to illuminate the work area. Keeps me safe and productive at the same time. Quality and reliability are very important to me. This thing has both in spades.

Best Flashlight Just Got Better With This Redesign
I had an older Streamlight Jr. I will talk about that later, but first, I want to explain just how epic this flashlight is. Our work issues those tiny, dim AAA Maglites, so I figured I would try out the AA LED Maglites. Had the 1st and 2nd generation with the twist-head switches. BOTH of them were maybe $5 cheaper than this flashlight, and both of them FAILED on the first drop. My work area has a concrete floor, with a concrete pit about 10 feet below ground, and furnaces that are around 9 feet high above ground. One of these flashlights failed after being dropped from my belt pouch that came with the flashlight, at 3 feet, while the other one rolled into the pit and crashed on the bottom and failed. I took a chance and got a Streamlight Jr LED, since one of my friends in the Marines swears by them. I was amazed at how excellent the beam pattern is and how much brighter it was despite using the same battery configuration as the Maglites, and the battery lasted slightly longer. This flashlight has fallen from my pouch, while on top of the furnace, smacked into the ground 12 feet below, then rolled into the pit for another 10 feet fall, REPEATEDLY, and has survived. I have dropped it, crushed it between tooling, dropped it in water, had a set of AA batteries leak acid inside it, and it took this abuse for 3 years before finally dying. The reason why it died was because the switch was fully exposed all around, and a fall would actually torque on the threads slightly (as well as the many battery changes I went through), and the threads wound up cross-threading while halfway putting it back together after a battery change. It still worked even then, (and went through two battery changes through the top of the frame) but eventually the arcing from the loose switch trashed the LED and killed it off. What I especially like about this model, is that the switch is counter-sunk into the housing. So the switch is surrounded by metal (the picture is the older model), and even a fall straight on the switch will be guarded by the metal ring surrounding it. This metal ring does not hinder operation at all, even with big fingers, and I look forward to this flashlight surviving many years of abuse. If you baby flashlights or rarely use them, go with other brands, but if you habitually drop them, look no further, buy this one right now. I assure you, that you will not be disappointed. On a side note, if the LED is flickering on and off, the batteries need to be replaced. Not sure if all of them do it (since the Mag's were dead before the batteries needed to be changed) but just an fyi.

Great flashlight
I think this is a really great flashlight. I had one that lasted me 15 years. Not sure what was wrong with it. Maybe the bulb. The first one served me so well that I replaced it with a new one. I work building maintenance so my flashlight tends to take a beating. I’ve dropped it off ladders and it got dropped under water numerous times and it kept on working.

Was a great flashlight!
I have been using this flashlight for years. I use it daily, and have had great luck with it. Batteries last a long time! EDIT: After about a year of constant use (daily use of approximately 3 to 7 hours) a magnifying piece on the inside of the lens popped off. I tried to glue it back on, but unfortunately it did not perform the same, much dimmer then before. I had a spare part that I could have swapped to replace but for some reason the part is now permanent (previous models you could change out), so I couldn't replace this one. Bummer. I really like the light, size and design. Although, I did purchase a new Streamlight, a bit bigger and brighter. Hopefully I will get a bit more time out of it.

Great for work
I work in the steamfitting and welding industry. This lights give me great clear white light when I'm looking for defects and working in the field. Highly Recommend!

I'm in the dark!
My initial impression was that this was a quality flashlight, but the supplied batteries eventually leaked and "froze" inside the battery housing with all attempts to remove them unsuccessful. I now have a tabletop conversation piece.

Very bright
Love this little guy. Its my second one after having dropped my first one, quite a few times on the concrete shop floor. Oops! Use it almost every day at work for inspections. Super bright light, does go through batteries a bit fast tho.
