Fits the Dirty Hands brush mower

Had to reuse the OE spacers to get the proper belt alignment. And fiddle somewhat to get a new belt installed. But it fits the Dirty Hands brush mower made by, the now defunct company, Frictionless World.

Right part number

This part looked great with the right part number but was about a1/4 inch bigger around and the hole was to small for bushing too fit otherwise in looked great have to send back

AM37249 Installation Tip for My JD 48C Mower Deck

You must nock out the bushing that comes with this idler so that you can insert the JD spacer M78658. Be careful not to damage the idler bearings. I used a ratchet socket to support the inner bearing race and another socket to punch this bushing out. However you do it just don't put pressure on the bearings when nocking the bushing out so that the JD spacer M78658 will fit.

NOT a replacement for Deere AM37249 (WITHOUT MODIFICATION)

I bought this pulley to replace a Deere AM37249 due to the one-day delivery. John Deere dealership was closed for a long weekend. As others have stated you need to modify the center hole to fit. The hole as received was too small. No instructions on how to modify. I returned to Amazon and bought one from Deere, which only cost a dollar more. Ended up losing an additional two days in equipment downtime.

Worked Like a Charm

The idler pulley fit correctly and is working well. The quality as compared to the original looks a little suspect but so far it has worked flawlessly. The price certainly was right. We'll see after a few years of use. So far I would buy it again.
