Sort of works but has a flaw
Buttons with this are relatively easy to attach, which is what I initially thought was the only important thing. However, it attaches the buttons with these little plastic inserts, the round tops of which stick out on top of the buttons. The problem is that if you plan on using the button on a shirt or something, the protruding round tops make it difficult to fit the button through a button hole. I get my dress shirts dry cleaned. When they try to unbutton the collars, they will have a tough time getting it done with this sort of button attachment. I highly doubt the plastic attachment will survive a routine dry cleaning. Yes, the buttons get attached, but for many uses it will still be temporary and not come close to matching the basic efficiency of a button that gets sewed on.

Worth it for buttons & clothes
This is one of the best purchases I've made. Stitching buttons on clothing can be tedious especially when there are so many other things to do. Despite the cheap plastic parts it works! Watch out for that needle!

Once mastered it does the job
Once you master the operation of this little device it works as stated, it can only attach the button according to length of the small "rivets". You need one "rivet" for each hole in the button.

A pretty solid 2-star item
I had one of the old "buttoneer" gadgets that another vendor sold. It used a smaller mechanism to insert loops through button holes and it worked pretty well. This thing also works, though requires careful pressure being applied between the fabric, button, and gadget. If any of that gets out of line... even slightly... while the trigger is pressed, the plastic connector will not be inserted through the fabric as needed. I used 10 of the connectors to attach 4 of them, resulting in 1 reattached button. It was awkward, but with determination, the job got done. So okay, 2 stars = "Weakly satisfactory". At least the gadget is fairly low-priced.

Really a shirt button fastener
Bought this to put buttons back on trousers. The thickness if the material was to much for fastener. Thus would wirk far better to add buttons on shirts.

Works!
I actually bought this to help place my patches for my custom jacket. The adhesive on the back of the patch was not enough to hold it. The outter part of the patch was black and I added the black stitch pieces to help it stay in place and it worked! Since the patch was black, it matched the stitch pieces and you can't even tell that they're there. Maybe one day I'll actually sew the patches on but for now.... job well done (I didn't allow the stitch to go thru the entire jacket, just the outter leather part not inner lining)

Easy to use!
Really good delivery, is well made and works as advertised! Must be sure to keep a firm insertion pressure as you pull the trigger! Firmly attached button on my first try.

Parts missing ... twice!
The first time I ordered this product I found that there were no fasteners or buttons in the box - just the device. I returned it for a replacement and exactly the same has happened again. What pointless and shoddy service! This time I'm getting a refund.

I received this order but I can't use it as the fastners are missing.
Order not as advertised. No fastners so unable to use. After 2 weeks Amazon haven't acknowledged this review. This gadget is useless without fastners
