Blown Away
My Series 9 is over 5 years old. I’ve replaced the cartridge once before with the identical kind it came with and a new one made a big difference after using the original for about two years. However, I greatly appreciate that Braun keeps these new carts interchangeable with older models because this new one is in another. The Series 9 is a great shaver because you can shave baby’s bottom smooth with no irritation (as long as you’re not shoving it into your face and doing super fast swipes) and after 5 years or so you can replace the battery for like $50 when it inevitable burns out like mine did and it’s like new. The build is also outstanding. Very durable. The big difference and great surprise with this newest version of the cartridge is with my neck. The hair on my neck grows in countless bazaar directions and regular blades make it impossible for me to go over it two days in a row without serious irritation and ingrown hairs. I dove deep into all the premium wet shave products and razors and could pull off a good close shave with little to no irritation but shaving two days in a row was still out of the question. The big improvement I notice with this cartridge is how it cuts short stubble, and that makes the biggest difference on my neck. With the other S9 carts I could get a bare smooth shave on my neck but it took a good 10/15 minutes and probably 50 passes. But this new one picks up everything in the coils and goes closer than the other carts with about 15 passes with way way way less pressure needing to be applied and without any irritation whatsoever. The others carts caused a tiny amount of irritation, not really any pain, but the two little problem patches on my neck would usually be red and noticeable but overall the shave was great. This latest cartridge is a grand slam. So happy it fits my older Series 9 which still looks brand new and works perfectly. And I like how this new one has a frosted metallic finish that doesn’t match the shiny chrome style of my S9 but makes for a cool contrasted look.

94M is a lot better than the older version
They definitely improved something with the 94m replacement vs. the 92s. The shave is MUCH closer (I used to have to touch up with a blade razor in the shower). I can't comment on the longevity yet since I haven't had it that long, but from a shave quality standpoint these are a world better.

Great addition
My Braun 9 series shaver head starting cutting me. Foil had deteriorated making the shaver unusable. Used an old Norelco while waiting on the replacement Braun head. New foil head is excellent but expensive. With the new head I would rate the Braun about equal in shaving closeness but the Norelco is still more comfortable - and cheaper. And the Norelco has never cut me.

Had not changed the head in several years. The new head appears to shave faster than the old head.

Hole in foil screen, second time this happened.
A total waste of over 60 bucks for a shaving head that lasted less than 1 month. This is the second time that the shaving head broke - a hole appeared in the foil, and that is from a couple days of beard growth. A cheap, low quality product. I bought the best Braun has - their series 9 shaver - and ther 60 dollar shaving heads break easily. Braun does not recognize any warranty on shaver heads; I highly recommend NOT BUYING this shaver. Buy something cheaper, that is not Braun, as their quality has dropped to dollar store standards....so much for the vaunted 'Made in Germany' label. UPDATE Oct 2020 - complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau regarding violation of the Consumer Protection Act, Ontario, regarding false and misleading representation. Braun series 9 should be recalled; the heads for these units are defective, and critical reviews of the series 9 shavers across the internet supports my contention that Braun is knowingly selling defective items, claiming those items (shaver heads) last up to 18 months, when they know this is not the case.

Don’t buy!
As another user commented stayed sharp for maybe one or two months that’s it, thought it was maybe just my imagination but see others with same complaint, my original on the series 9 shaver lasted well over a year sharp. Maybe outsourcing replacements to some inferior producing company offshore. And let’s not get started on the cost!

Cheap Quality and Total Waste of Money
This Braun razor series 9 gives a really nice close shave. However, the quality of the micro-screen is severely suspect and totally compromises the integrity of this expensive razor. I have gone through two or three micro-screens this year due to it breaking. I had bought a replacement micro-screen earlier this year, which broke; then had to buy one in August this year, which broke again; then bought another one in October this year and...yes, it broke again, a week ago (end of November). What gives? I cannot believe that this is Braun quality?!. All I do is I pick up the shaver on the left side of the basin, have a shave, rinse under the running hot water tap and put it back in its cleaning and charging cradle...nothing else, that's all. There is no unnecessary man-handling or transporting from one place to another. I am going to write to Braun with my complaint. I will be going back to my Philishave. My advice is DO NOT BUY BRAUN

Braun 92S Shaver Head Important.
Just want to tell all you Braun series 9 S Shavers about the the problem I have read about the noisy Cassette Cartridge, the Cartridge is not noisy it’s your shaver Drive Unit part number BR-81677628-81713521, I had that noisy problem and I was lucky because I have a new Braun series 9 that was still in the box so I put the head from my older series 9 on my new one and wow it was quiet. Then I started investigating the problem and found out about the Cartridge if you read this Amazon could you start carrying the Series 9 Cassette Cartridge because they have them on ebay but would cost to much to get them delivered to me here in Canada. For those of you having the problem with the Foil I usually get 1 year out of mine, as for new one cutting better I always find the cut is good until I get the hole in the foil remember as you shave the blades is being sharpened and that I know, I’ve been shaving with Braun Shavers for 50 years and the series 9 has been the best shaver just hoping to be able to get the part to repair my 5 year old one rather than throw it out.

A Must Have for your New Braun Series 9 Shaver
Since manufacturer recommends replacing the cutter/foil every 18 months, have one on stand by now while it is on your mind. This cutter/foil will bring your series 9 shaver back to a "New" condition. This head is significantly wider than the cutter/foil head for the series 7 shaver. The 92S head is for the chrome edition of your series 9 Braun shaver. There was a shortage of replacement heads for the Series 9 when it was first introduced so it will be very prudent to get one now and keep it on standby so you will continue to enjoy a great shave.
