Customer service was awesome. They stand behind thier product.
I bought this in August 2022 and it stopped working. I contacted them and explained the pump was not working. They shipped a new pump very quickly. That pump was also pretty much a dud, so I emailed them back. They said it sounded like a short in the wiring and sent me a completely new unit with a pump. I have tried others, but this one works for my large dogs. My dogs love the Vortex and I love the customer service Pioneer pet provides. I highly recommend the vortex. My dogs choose it over standing water, it's the perfect height and design. It's made well, and sturdy aside from the first glitch with the short. Customer service was awesome.

The fountain game
We have four large dogs. A rhodie, heeler, and two huskies are meant to use this fountain. It is large enough, and I only have to refill it about once per day. However, we had to leave the tape on the sides that connect the top and bottom portion and the white center piece keeps floating up and our dogs will remove it. One of the huskies has eaten two filters as a result. This is our second one. The first had some sort of issue with the pump that made a dying sound the first time I plugged it in and then could not pump enough to keep the bowl full. The second has worked much better. All of our dogs are messy drinkers and the vortex has actually helped eliminate a little bit of the mess by pulling the water back down and in. I appreciate that greatly. Someone else noted the rate of the filter change frequency on their review. I should have listened. These filters get very dirty very fast and only come three to a pack. As for longevity, I can’t say at this point. We are only about two weeks into the replacement fountain. This is our third fountain overall and we like this design compared to the first, which was far too small for these dogs. It was not one of this same brand.

Filters do not last long
I like the idea of this and the little swirl but I’m forever filling it. It’s forever dirty and I’ve already had to order a box of filters because the filters don’t last very long compared to my other fountains because we have six fountains throughout the house for cats and dogs.

My dog loves it TOO much!
It’s quiet when it’s completely full. It does get loud once the water level starts to decrease. I don’t really mind since I have fish tanks in the same room and it sounds like another water feature. Just thought others might like to be aware of the noise. My dog needs to be walked CONSTANTLY now! We have had it for about 2 months now and he is always enjoying his water bowl. When we introduced this, my dog developed the problem of excited tinkling while he wags his tail. LOL! I have not tried taking this bowl away to fix his perpetually full bladder. He loves it so much, it would break my heart. I’ve accepted that it does it’s job too well and the puppy and his fancy water bowl are inseparable. I would say that the filter gets dirty FAST! I’ve been rinsing the one it came with to extend the life, but I’d say it’s overdue for a new one.

Good product
By and large, I like this product: I like the fact that it keeps the dogs' water clean, and that I only have to refill the water bowl once every 1-2 days. (There are only a few products that hold a full 128 oz. of water, and this is one of them.) The vortex-like motion encourages the dogs to drink. The minimalist design complements the decor of my residence. Unlike the Pioneer Pet water fountain, this product does not look institutional in design. The bowl is high enough above the floor that the dogs don't need to strain their necks when they drink -- and, more importantly, that they don't dribble too much water when they drink. Assembly is relatively uncomplicated, unlike some of the competing 128 fl. oz. products form Pioneer Pet and other companies that I looked at. I'd have slightly preferred it if the water bowl itself were stainless steel metal, rather than dark plastic, which I think is more sanitary. For a food bowl, the use of plastic would be a show-stopper, but I'm OK with it for a water bowl. The device isn't noisy, and if you have smart home equipment, you can easily connect it to a smart plug that you can turn off automatically when you leave the house, or at night, to save energy.

5 stars but one flaw
I love everything about this to water my dogs. Easy to set up and use and re fill, not that I follow the correct refill directions. My only issue is that my larger ABB bulldog sticks is whole face in the bowl and disrupts the vortex which makes the white piece that creates the vortex float. Directions say it should click into place but there is no clicking or any mechanism to cause a click. My workaround is just to remove the filter and that solves the problem completely. I just clean it more often without the filter. My other dog (pit mix) drinks like a normal dog and has/causes no issues :)

Don't buy, no return policy! AND filters cost
just like inkjet printers, the consumables, in this case the filters, will shortly cost more than the cost of buying the water fountain, BEWARE! No return policy either!
