Works okay, but not for long periods of time

I have historically chosen to wear a bee jacket with attached veil when I work my hives. I have some friends who wear coveralls and use a veil when they are working their hives. In my case, I have found that this veil works well when I have short amounts of work to do around the hives. If I am going to spend more than an hour working my hives (I keep between 10 - 15 hives each season, depending on how harsh a winter it was and what I can do for splits) then this veil doesn't quite cut it for me. I am 6' 2" tall and the more active I am while wearing this, the more it wants to "ride up" in the back. I am sure someone will say I am not wearing it properly and maybe that is true, but I think it is just that I am tall, bend over a lot, and have a lot of hives to work and it rides up after too much activity. It certainly is a keeper, but I will only use it for the quick inspections, swapping frames, harvesting supers, etc.

They thought they had me, 3 stings to the face. Then I bought this, and there was nothing they could do. Their feeble stings did nothing. Those bald faced hornets didn’t stand a chance. 10/10, I like not getting stung in the face.

It Fit's My Big Head but not My Big Shoulders

Just received it today and have yet to test it with the bees. That said, I will follow up if it doesn't perform as expected. I bought this as an alternative to my suit as my bees are very gentle and I already work without gloves. I'm not discarding the suit as when it gets cooler it'll be more comfortable and it's very effective. My issue with buying an integrated hat veil, or for that matter one that required a separate helmet was the concern that the hat/helmet wouldn't fit my 8 1/4 sized head. This does but the elastic under arm straps and shoulder split are designed for someone that is much smaller. My workaround here is to blouse the neck inside the collar of my t-shirt. The goal is to protect the face so that I don't get popped and drop a frame full of bees in reaction. If I end up absolutely overwhelmed, I'll just suit up. PROS: Good visibility Fits a massive cranium CONS: Shoulder straps and neck not designed for the big chest and shoulders that come with such a big head. TL;DR It should work but could be better engineered.

This if the veil you need.

This is the veil you need. Cheaper ones are smaller, and don’t draped over your shoulders far enough for good protection. This one has straps that go under your arms, keeping everything in place. This veil and a decent long sleeved shirt and you are good to go!

Works well but somewhat hard to get into

The veil itself is great with a good unobstructed view but the arm holes seem to be somewhat oddly placed so it is hard to get into such that it is pulled down against your back. It may simply not be the right size for me but the placement of the arm straps seems off. But I would still recommend it.

Good product, size could be an issue

As advertised however I didn't really expect it to fit under my arms as I am quite big and it works well enough just hanging down, so if you are small to medium size then it would fit fine those of us who are larger may have to replace the elastic with something longer. I wanted something to replace the bee suits now I am getting brave and this does the job

Item received with dirty finger marks on rim of hat and marks on the hat itself I was rely annoyed as I wanted the veil to inspect the bees Item must have been used and returned by some one!

Good but could be better

I like the reinforced brim and dark net and the elastic that goes under my arms to keep the net snug in place so that the bugs can't fly up and in... But 1) I find the hat a little small in the circumference. It doesn't fit far enough down on my head ... and as a result, it rests on top when when I wear ear protection required with my chain saw. And 2) I believe that the hat could benefit from a draw string to cinch under the chin so that the hat stays in place when one bends over. Overall, I'm happy, but I feel it could be a better.

Positiv überrascht

Ich bin positiv überrascht. Als Imker-Anfänger war ich auf der Suche nach einem bezahlbaren Schleier, der mich aber auch schützt. Hier habe ich ihn gefunden. Ich arbeite im T-shirt in kurzer Hose etc. aber das Gesicht wollte ich schon gerne schützen. Der Hut passt sehr gut und sitzt auch nicht zu locker auf dem Kopf. Nach dem Arbeiten habe ich einen Druck-Streifen auf der Stirn, was aber normal ist. Das Netzt ist sehr gut, ich kann sehr gut dadurch gucken um auch noch Stifte bzw. Brut zu erkennen. Auch die Gummis an den Armen sind sehr gut. Ich kann das Produkt empfehlen.
