Great box

Fun kit. I really enjoyed some of the rules for the easy level. Dinosaur was a bit confusing but we eventually made it

Not perfect, but a lot of fun!

These boxes have three games. An easy one, a medium difficulty one, and a hard one. The easy one was great. For the other two -- some of the clues were .... I mean, I get they are intentionally hard. And you can get clues. But we solved a few in circumspect ways, without realizing it. And those solutions moved us past some intermediate steps, and without those intermediate steps it became impossible to solve some later puzzles, because the steps we missed contained clues for those. I don't know how to work around this, I just know it was an issue for us when playing the game. It wasn't until after the game ended that we retraced our steps and figured out what had happened. That said, we enjoyed it enough that we purchased another set of three. Like I said, not perfect, but lots of fun and worth playing for sure. A solid 4-stars.

The best way I can describe Exotic Adventures is "bland". There really isn't anything noteworthy about this particular set of Unlock! games, IMO. Night of the Boogeymen (Level 1): This is not your best choice for a beginner-level game if you are brand new to Unlock!. It's a little too difficult, confusing, and disconnected. If you've played a few other Unlock! games, you won't find the difficulty too bad; but it's still confusing and disconnected nonetheless. One puzzle is dead wrong; I would love to say more, but that would require a spoiler. Let's just say they got the perspective wrong. Regardless, I just felt like this game was... well... dull. [2.5 stars] Sheherazade's Last Tale (Level 2): My wife enjoyed this game more than I did. I concede that it is the best of the three in the box, but I wasn't all that impressed with it. One of the machines in the app was frustrating; it took way too long for your actions to have an effect. [In the game's defense, the clue explicitly said to be patient, but it still took way too long... to the point where I said, "This is ridiculous, I'm just going to print the answer sheet," at which time my wife took over for me.] This one was at least enjoyable to play, though. [3 stars] Expedition: Challenger (Level 3): One of the advantages of the "EXIT: The Game" series (IMO) is that it doesn't require an app to play it. That's not to imply that I don't like the "Unlock!" app. More often than not, the "Unlock!" app enhances the games; but when the app takes control, things go south real fast! Thus is the case with Expedition: Challenger. The first, say, 1/4 of the game is clever and enjoyable, but then the app takes over and suddenly it's not that great a game anymore, and in fact becomes rather boring and monotonous in many respects. Further, being an advanced-level game, you know the "logical" connections between clues and puzzles are few and far between. I was disappointed with Expedition: Challenger. [2.5 stars]

Fun series

My family loves this series. They are entertaining and require outside the box thinking and group cooperation. A bit expensive but worth the experience.

Love the Unlock! Games!!!!

I love the Unlock! games. I don't know how many I have played by now, but I would say most of them and they never fail to entertain. I love the that free app that can be used without data after downloaded helps keeps track of time, offers free hints, does the machines and codes and everything else that makes this simple card escape room esque game so much more. I also love that you can pass these on without damaging materials unlike the EXIT games. I truly love these games. I fully recommend them, they will not disappoint.

Pick a different unlock before this one

Long story short don't let this be your forst or 2nd unlock set. It is one of the weakest. The first game is solid, 2nd is average, 3rd was just flat out not good. The 3rd had a puzzle requring outside game knowledge which is not a normal thing. It was also i credibly confusing on several puzzles to the point of frustration and even a hint wa useless at times. Side note I have no idea how to get any penalty card on the 3rd game not that you want one. Anyways its a 5 out of 10. Worth playing but not as a 1st game as you may lose interest in the genre.

I love unlock series, but not this one.

Buy unlock! And play through any box but this one. Not one of the three adventures in here was fun. They were contrived and far too reliant on the app for the challenger deck.
