I adore this jacket! I've been living car-free for about 5 years now, and in Colorado, that's means biking through sun, rain, wind, snow, hot, cold, and hills. When I first started, that meant buying a vast array of specialty outerwear to throw in my panniers. Poncho, rain pants, fleece pants, leggings, warm jacket, light jacket, wind gloves, rain gloves; really, the works. Size-wise, I am an athletic 5'10", 150lbs or so, and the medium fits me basically perfect. These days, that's all over with. I barely even check the weather anymore, unless it's supposed to be really cold out. If it's actually currently raining when I leave, might wear swim trunks, but otherwise this jacket and some kind of neck wrap like a buff are all I need (plus winter miscellany like gloves and hats). Sometimes heavy rain will splash in through the neckline, otherwise, I wouldn't even need the buff. Varying the pit zips and front zipper provides enough ventilation that I don't get sweated out unless I'm climbing a real monster hill. The jacket handles wind, rain, and snow excellently. It can be quite warm but not on it's own, you really need some base layers, that said I don't often find myself needing a real overcoat (especially doing something active like hiking or biking). It's light enough that sun isn't a problem unless it's a bright warm day where you don't need the jacket anyway. I have worn this for trips to the grocery store at 10°F, all the way up to 25 mile circuits in pouring rain, warm, dry (well, everywhere that needs to be dry, anyway ;)) and comfortable the whole time.
