Better than the straw

Didn’t work for me

Had high hopes for this but no results after a month of dumping the entire bottle into our 8,000 gal pond is turbid and pea soup with algae. According to the math that should have been overkill but it’s not clearing up at all. We do have a lot big koi and it’s Florida so anyway perhaps it works great for certain species of algae but I guess the suspended micro inky stuff doesn’t respond. I guess a UV light is the ONLY thing that works but so expensive for the size pond we have. I’m back to blue dye and manual filter cleaning.

Great Product

I have a 600 gallon pond and have always had trouble with string algae. I have tried pond blue and ultraviolet lights and even a barley ball. Nothing seemed to work until I tried this product. Barley does not kill the algae but does not allow it to reproduce. After the first week of use I noticed my algae was not growing. I have just added my third dose and I can see my pond plant containers on the pond floor. After it clears up completely I am going to add some pond blue and keep it clear with the barley extract. The key is to be patient the product takes 3-4 weeks to work.

No headline

Have used this brand of liquid barley before. It's reliable, effective and does the job that other claim but don't deliver. Purchased from Amazon because cost was lower but quality same as ordering direct from manufacturer.

Good product

The media could not be loaded. I like that this is all natural. It helped to clear up my green water. My advise to folks with ponds is to add a lot of plants, especially floating plants with long roots like water hyacinth. They really filter out the excess nutrients so the algae starves. We now have crystal clear water. I use this in conjunction with Microlift PL. They work great together.

Good product that works well

I have a split level pond, roughly 650 gallons on the lower level, 350 gallons on the upper level, covering an area of roughly 150 square feet. I purchased the Microbe Lift 32-Ounce extract when winter was over to help get the pond ready for spring. This means I cleaned the pond, got rid of whatever dead organic matter I could, and added water before I added the extract. PROs: * Ease of use, understandable directions * Comes with a built in measuring cup * 32 ounce bottle provides several doses * My pond is crystal clear when I add this extract on a regular basis. CONs: * Cost may seem high ($24 for 32 ounces) * Results are not instantaneous and may require a couple of days. * If you have a large pond, you may need to initially double or triple the dosage to `shock' the pond. THE BOTTOM LINE: * Enough for several doses, which may offset the cost * The extract works well, but only if the pond is not filthy when you add it. * The product claims 'Goes to work on contact' which is true, but do not expect instantaneous results

Better than barley straw

Unlike straw which can cause debris in the pond this has same effect of keeping down the string algae and keeps pond clear

Very effective!

We have a 12x20 pond. I’d really been struggling throughout the summer with algae growth. I added 3oz everyday for a week and totally cleared it up. I can see the bottom again! I add 3oz now once a week and it stays perfect! Make sure you read the directions for proper amount for your size pond.

Miracle Cure!

I was skeptical at first because there was such a small noticeable change in the hair algae that my pond was experiencing but I continued to follow the instructions and dosing the pond. Each time there were more and more changes and then finally I noticed that there was no hair algae anymore! I was so pleased! I will continue to follow the directions for the monthly doses, for sure. If you think that this is not a good product then you need to make sure you follow the directions and that you have figured out the correct gallons of water in your pond. It does work! I will be buying more when this current bottle is gone. I wish I had found it earlier!

FINALLY!!!

Absolutely amazing stuff! I mean I could still see the bottom of my smaller pond but every inch of the bottom and every single rock was covered with algae and was getting worse by the day. I did exactly as the directions say (I doubled the dose) and I just did my second dose (week 2) yesterday and it is better again today then it was Monday. I'm so thankful and will be telling everyone about this product!

works well

It is natural barley straw not a chemical , no smell noticed a diffrence it two weeks , you will need a larger bottle for a big pond , I have 2,000 gal. and need to use 3 bottles and my filtration. this stuff broke down the debris and the filter took out that .

It works! And fast

Absolutely fantastic product. 5000 gallon pond turbid to the point of 1 foot visibility. By the 2nd week I can see bottom of pond. Absolutely excellent oroduct

Incredibly Effective & Completely Safe

Absolutely amazing. The most effective treatment for algae I have ever used and the pond life is completely unaffected by it. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
