Very good design but...

I like the design of these wheel locks because of the way the key fits. But you should compare the tip with your vehicle's lug nuts because although it might be advertised as "fit your vehicle" , it might go right through the stud hole of the rim because the tips are too small.

Quality, security, fit and finish at a good price

I installed these McGard chrome wheel locks for peace of mind. My 2011 Scion xB has aftermarket Drag 34 alloy wheels which have very tight lug nut recesses so I got these "Tuner Style" wheel locks. If the lug nut recesses in your wheels are bigger than the recesses in my wheels, you might be able to use other McGard locks which have the same M12 x 1.5 internal thread but are slightly longer, have a slightly bigger outer diameter, and are less expensive (more on this later). Be sure to get the proper "seat" (cone, radius, or shank) wheel locks that match your wheels. (The "seat" is the part of the lug nut that makes contact with the wheel.) Typically cone type seats are used for aftermarket wheels like my Drag 34s. On the other hand, my 2008 Toyota Sienna and 2005 Toyota Camry both have OEM alloy wheels and both use shank type seats. All three cars have the same M12 x 1.5 thread. These McGard 25257 locks are 1.24" long, look great and are easy to use. The included key has a double "stacked" head on it, it fits into a 13/16" socket or a 7/8" socket. The key pattern is actually at the bottom of a sleeve that fits over the body of the lock. This design provides secure key/lock engagement and eliminates damage to the key or the lock due to misalignment. McGard includes a registration card so you can get replacement keys at a later date. Be sure to keep your copy in a safe place. Other reviewers have complained that the included 13/16" hex key does not fit their OEM lugnut tool. As mentioned above, the included key has a double "stacked" head on it, it fits into a 13/16" socket or a 7/8" socket. Also, McGard actually makes other (less expensive) locksets (that have slightly bigger outside diameters) with the same internal thread with hex keys in 2 sizes to fit certain OEM lugnut tools: - the 25137 locksMcGard 24137 Chrome Cone Seat Wheel Locks (M12 x 1.5 Thread Size) - Set of 4 have a 3/4" hex size key and are 1.46" long - the 25157 locksMcGard 24157 Chrome Cone Seat Wheel Locks (M12 x 1.5 Thread Size) - Set of 4 have a 13/16" hex size key and are 1.28" long so may be possible to get a lockset with a key that fits your OEM wrench. (The SAE sized keys work with metric sockets, but it won't be a tight fit.) I'm using a Gorilla Automotive 1721 Telescoping Power wrenchGorilla Automotive 1721 Telescoping Power Wrench - Standard Socket and the included 7/8" socket fits the larger head on this key perfectly. All in all, this is a great product. It's more expensive than those copycat brands available at your local automobile specialty store, but definitely worth it!

Did not sit flush. Sticks out 1/4” past rim

Fits fine but I chose to go to dealer for $100. So it sits flush. I’m just anal on how things look.

Will definitely deter theives

The material use for it were top notch and the weight felt good. I don't think anything will be taking it off except for the key itself (which was built fine enough, though it could've been better). It'll keep your tires safe for sure, short of spending a while to hammer a socket on then removing it it will stay on your vehicle unless you got the key. Wheel locks are meant to be a deterrent not a all-safe. A thief wants a quick easy buck, they'll choose a vehicle with no complications so they'd choose a different vehicle if they're quickly scouting for rims or tires.

The key breaks eventually

If you love hammering a socket onto one of these, on all four wheels, and most likely damaging your wheels in the process of getting these off when the key breaks, and it will break, then go ahead and buy these. Every single person I've talked to who's bought these has had to get on YouTube and figure out how to get them off once their key breaks. Sure they can send a replacement, but I would rather buy a product that just works. Garbage, not worth it, at all. They cost me more than they are worth in the end.

Does the job

Bought a Scion iQ with alloy wheels and no locking wheel nuts with it. Purchased these and they arrived very quickly and are a good peace of mind to deter theft.

a must for many aftermarket wheels

The fit and finish of these lock nuts is excellent. Some tuner wheels (in this case Enkei's) need these because normal ball lock nuts will not fit the wheel holes. Unfortunately they are more expensive but it's the only way to go. Be aware that there is only one key in the package. If you loose it you can't take off your wheels ! You can order more from McGard though but again, they are expensive for what they are.
