Trustworthy brand

I ordered 2 black since that color was the least expensive. Received one black, one navy blue!! Thank you. Amazon didn't have to do that. The instruction sheet is easy to follow. 0-0-0 is the default combination. You pull right side of the cable out. Press the dot underneath with a pointy object (I used a pen) and pick 3 numbers from 0 to 9. Little tricky to do it since you will need to use both hands. The lock wants to slide on kitchen island/table. But, doable. Then, insert the cable and move the numbers. Airport security agent can use his/her key and open it if it is necessary. Take a note of the 3 digit number so that you won't forget it. You can always pick a different set of numbers. If your bag/ suitcase is stolen it is not too hard to cut the cable with the right tool. This is just for temporary security. (great idea if you are walking around in Europe with a small backpack which should be in front of you. Thieves are so good when you don't see your back!!!) Not 5 stars yet. Time will show. I am pretty confident I will get many years. I have been using Master Locks forever. Cheaper locks are available. But, you know the old saying.................

Somehow I lost a lock when traveling. I saw this one and read the reviews and decided to purchase. It is a very good lock ...but you need to remember the number you set and which side you set it on (the one with the dots not the side). Would recommend.

Be careful setting combination

Be careful setting combination. If during setting, you accidentally release depressed button on bottom, whatever your numbers are set on, that’s your combination. If you re-depress the button to finalize your combination, it won’t set, and then you’ll need to remember the numbers were set on when you accidentally released the button to reset the combination. The button is not that easy to maintain in a depressed position during setting the combination.

Very Good For What It Is

I've had a number of these over the years. If you are looking for impenetrable security -- this ain't it. If you are looking to keep honest people honest, or just need some basic safety, these are great. Overtime, the lock mechanism has stopped working on only one of them, and that one had a lot of use before then. Mu only complaint is that the numbers are sometimes difficult to see in low light environments or when needing to use a flashlight.

Good Lock

I love this lock! It works great and was perfect for my luggage. The only drawback I can see would be that the cable is a little long. This could cause the zipper to rip if the lock got caught on something in transit. This didn't happen to me but I could see it happening and for that reason alone I took off a star. I am very pleased with my purchase!

Sturdy and Good Quality.

A QUALITY LOCK

Brilliant little padlock. Nice looking easy to set up and strong. Just used on a trip to Mexico after reading review about how good this lock is. It lived up to the review and we have decided to purchase two more .
