Porcelain, side outlet, UL rated, inexpensive
Solid porcelain body that is heat and arc resistant. External “always on” grounded outlet on the side, pull chain technology for the bulb. Easy installation for an experienced DIYer. Grounded outlet. The clowns who built my home used plastic versions of this pull chain unit - they were ungrounded. I am replacing all of them. For another $5, I’d like to see another version with a switch on this unit that allows the integral grounded outlet the ability to be “always on” or switched off with the pull chain. As well made as the porcelain body on this bulb housing may be, the pull chain mechanism is not equal quality, it just feels a bit wonky. Previous experience with this exact outlet is that the pull chain switch wears out with regular use and it can arc inside. I’ve seen that happen happen myself multiple times. But the porcelain body helps. This is still the best quality pull chain switched bulb and external outlet on the market. Hope this helps!

Great combination light socket/outlet
I went to replace a lightbulb in our basement and when I unscrewed the light bulb, the receptacle came with it...the ceramic broke in a couple of different places. Normally this would be a trip to Wally World or Tarzheh but I was Amazon and started looking here. I looked at more than a few and settled on this one. I'm not a great handyman because I usually break the thing I'm trying to fix. I actually got the old one unscrewed and screwed the wires onto the new one. The person who put the original one in crammed too many wires into the box so it was a little difficult getting everything pushed back in...but I did it! The socket works great, I can plug in something if I need to, and there's a string to pull if I don't need the light. I love it! I bought another one!

One of the two I bought worked well, the other not so good.
I bought the 2 pack. 1 of them worked very well, but the other, when you pull the chain, sometimes the switch sticks in the on position, and I have to pull the chain a few times to get it to retract back to the neutral position to be able to pull again to turn the switch off. Not a deal breaker though, that I hope will get better though use. The hardest part of the assembly is getting the end of the chain into the pull string, I tried pushing it into the little hole with my thumbnail quite forcefully to no avail. I ended up using needle nose pliers to get it seated properly in the hole. Again, the other one worked flawlessly but the pull string was difficult for this one too. There are 4 screw holes in the ceramic base to accommodate the installation into the 2 different standard junction boxes. Easy install, just ensure the power is off and check with a voltmeter, if you have one, to be sure. Good product at a good price.

Mine arrived intact, excellent quality for what I paid for it. Yes it's made in China, but it was still a quality fixture. I'm a retired electrical engineer so know the difference between what is good and what is junk.

Ceramic not plastic Leviton quality!
In my pantry under the stairs there was only a switched light fixture and no outlets. As I needed an outlet to charge our dyson stick vac which is stored in there (along with Harry Potter) this solved the problem. As it has its own pull switch, I can also turn off the light while leaving the main switch on to keep charging the vacuum. Nice to find a quality Leviton fixture at a great price (same as my local HD) and I don’t have to burn any gas to go get it.

I purchased two of these for my basement which had very old plastic fixtures and no plug. These are easy to wire and feel very sturdy due to the porcelain material. The outlets are perfect, as I have two LED shop lights that have no inline switches, so, now when I turn on the basement lights, the shop lights and the bulbs in the fixtures all turn on without issue.

This is good for a workshop or ugly unfinished basement.
Sure this is not pretty or in any way fashionable, but it serves it's purpose and is very sturdy. I use it for my workshop but had to put a hook in the ceiling, so that any cord that I plug into it, won't touch the hot lightbulb and burn. So the hook is to keep it off the bulb. Like I said, ugly but it works if you make that small modification.

Easy to Install
Needed to add a socket that was controlled by the lightswitch in my garage. This was perfect. I just removed the old socket and using the same wires installed this one in about 5 mins. This allowed me to plug in some LED strip lighting which now turns on with the lightswitch so my whole gagrage is well lit.
