Winter jacket

Purchased the black/camo version and its a very stylish coat. Not too much camo. Very warm considering being light weight. Hood can be detached. 3 outside pockets and 2 nice inside pockets for wallet, readers etc. True to size. Great purchase and gift.

Snugging straps around bottom come loose easily, otherwise seems OK.

I will take off 1 star. As another review noted, the velcto straps on the wrists are small and single stiched and likely will pick up junk on them and/or just wear out. The tabs on them to unfasted them stick out and are a poor design. The straps around the bottom to snug the bottom tight start to losen as soon as one lets them go as they slip out of the little friction fitting to hold them at a given length. That's the bad. The good is for the current price of about $80 this is a very warm jacket and the hood really is warm and fits snug to keep wind out well with it merging well into the collar. It has a good amount of pockets, the hand warmer pockets have zippers and there is an outside zipper pocket as well as inside pockets. All that is good. It has a kind of internal sleeve inside the main outer sleave which has nit cuffs which fit snug and would do a good job to keep snow and water out if it got past the main cuff. That is a nice touch. I hope it has some decent water resistance. It feels more like a regular winter "plastic" sort of jacket vs. the many other Whitetails which are canvas or other styles which just feel warm and welcoming to pick up and to wear.

Warm and Comfortable Cost-Effective Jacket

I am pleasantly surprised with how comfortable this jacket is. Most jackets I've purchased have a breaking in period, not this one. I purchased this jacket because I work outside during the winter. This jacket is fantastic for cold weather work. I can last all day outside in this jacket and still feel great. The under arm vents are perfect for letting a little heat out. Standing too long with the jacket on inside a heated building gets pretty hot. I only suggest wearing it while outside. The tail of the jacket prevents any draft from coming in from the top of the pant line. This is a wonderful feature. It's is probably the main reason why I got this jacket, aside from its amazing price. I've searched elsewhere for a decent jacket, but they all cost at least two times as much as this one. This jacket is also rated great for cold temperatures. I'm comfortable wearing it in any weather from 0 to 35 degrees. Also, I only wear a single shirt inside. There is no need for layering additional clothing with this jacket. If you want to layer though, I'm sure even colder temperatures will be comfortable. With layering, I can see comfort at -25 degrees easily. The hood is detachable, and very comfortable. It is made from the same inner jacket material, and keeps my head warm without being itchy. Most beanies I wear always leave me itchy, but not this hood. The top-front most part of the hood could come down more, as I found it always pulls back for some reason. It's not a big deal though if I wear a baseball cap or beanie under it. I like to wear my buffs a lot and it's a perfect hood for those. The jacket has multiple pockets that can hold a lot. My favorite pocket is located on the sleeve that I didn't even notice until after wearing it for a week. It is on the left-side, and is great for little things like keys or snacks. I purchased the size LT (large-tall). I originally ordered the large size, but it was too short in the back, and felt a little tight. I sent it back and got the LT, and it couldn't fit any better. I have a slight athletic build, am about 5'11" tall, and weigh about 196 pounds. The tall versions are an inch longer both on the sleeves and the bottom of the jacket. All in all, this is a wonderful jacket, with a price that can't be beat.

Phenomenal jacket!

This jacket is super durable and warm. It's a little on the heavy side but so what, it's a winter jacket. Great value overall, great product and I definitely recommend! I ordered a large, I'm 5'9 175 and it fit perfect. If you are taller then 5'9 definitely go with an extra large.
