Charles-Hubert 3599-W

I bought the Charles-Hubert 3599-W as a gift for a family member wanting to wear/use a pocket watch vs. a wrist watch. I was trying to find a good looking, quality, quartz watch, that wouldn't break the bank. After conducting quite a bit of research I settled on this watch and definitely found the best price on Amazon.com. The first thing you notice upon opening the packaging is the immaculate presentation. The inner box and case give the impression of a high-end pocket watch. The watch looks exactly like the pictures and I love the engraving on the model I chose. Its set up for sideways viewing (12 o'clock position is 90 degrees to the left of the stem), which I prefer, and it's a good medium size. My only concern is with the quality and durability of the watch. I'm afraid the jury is still out on that point. It is much lighter than I expected. When I pull the tip to set the time I don't get the feeling that the internal mechanism is "solid." It seems a bit loose to me. Of course I can't tell for sure but that's the impression I get. All of which give me the impression this watch might not last too long before needing to be replaced or go into a shop for repairs. If you're looking for a good looking, introductory pocket watch, but not a family heirloom piece, this might be the watch for you.

Great gift watch

I bought this watch as a birthday gift for a friend. I was quite impressed with the classiness, quality, and attractiveness of it. He was, too. The packaging is very nice, as well. I bought this on sale, and it was a good price for a great watch.

A beautiful watch, but.....

this is a beautiful pocket watch, but unfortunately it does not keep good time and keeps losing time so I am exchanging it in hopes the next one works much better.

The watch works, but is flimsy. It's thin. It has a cheap clank to it. What's needed is a heavier case like some of the older watches back in the day. You could charge a little extra and get a solid turn of the century pocket watch like the old railroad watches, with wind up options as well as covers. Wouldn't that be grand!
