For years I've used these exact same tongs. Recently, I thought I had lost them and was pleased to find I could replace them on Amazon. After I received the new ones I found the old ones. They are exactly the same except the new ones are stiffer and are open wider when not in use. I am sure this is because they are new and the old ones are probably 10 years old. I use them to turn food while cooking it in my toaster oven. They also came in handy as an "arm" extension when I was threading wires from my monitor to my computer tower and had to go through the holes in the back of my large wooden desk. I gripped the wire in the tongs and was able to then direct it through the hole. It worked great. Without them, my reach was not long enough to reach where the wire had to go through the hole.
