Front is better than back for many uses

I need to access things often and in public and confined spaces. Taking on and off a backpack is the worst. This solves the problem and keeps me hands free. I need pen, notebook, cell, snacks, tape measure, ID, and specs at various times. Very, very practical. The only negative is the high cost.

Still getting used to it

Jury is still out on this kit, I'm not a large guy (5'7") and when i hook this up to the front of my pack it goes from the outside edge of one shoulder strap to the outside edge of the other, so completely covers my chest. Holds plenty of stuff, maps, compass, snivel gear, multi tool, etc, etc. I have my radio on it in a radio pouch on the molle web on the front. There's room for several more pouches on the molle. I use it for SAR, so I'm not loading mags on it or anything super heavy, and I have no requirement to be prone. Giving it 5 stars because it seems bomber, very well constructed. My first piece of Hazard 4 gear. I recommend it if you're looking for something different than a Civilian type chest harness for your radio.

Very Useful Equipment

I used the VentraPack Chest Pack with Hazard 4 Varness shoulder harness once so far while providing traffic support for a bicycle race. My course map and other admin supplies were kept inside. I attached a small first aid kit and a small radio pouch on the out side. The set up was comfortable and my equipment and map were readily available. I look forward to using this setup at other events I provide communications support for.

Another Excellent Product by Hazard 4!

Added it to my Hazard 4 Plan-C(TM) Dual Strap Slim Daypack and it works awesome. Everything fitted perfect making the chest pack totally accessible on your chest. Huge pouch with molle allows for additional attachments like a bear spray carrier and knife pouch. The clips allow you to easily disconnect it so you don't have to have it on the pack all the time, only when you really need it. I tried other individual chest rigs before, always have adjustment issues. So....forget the simply chest rig, get this addition for your overall load out - its well worth it. Happy Hiking!

What else to say... Well made, super good fabric and stitching, awesome design. I used ripoff and home made setup in the past that were convenient, but nothing come in comparison with this product.

Emport pc

J'utilise ce ventrapack couplé avec un forward observer et deux jellyroll et un H4 Varness Un emport photo pour professionnel qui permet de transporté sur le terrain tout le matériel de prise de vue + un pc 10" qui se loge à la perfection dans le Ventrapack de H4. Cela permet de transporter un sac à dos + l'ensemble de son matériel photo/pc avec un poids parfaitement répartie. certes pas donné au final. mais tout celà s'adresse à des professionnels avant tout.
