A whole lot cheaper than a new dryer!
My 12 year old GE Profile gas dryer had developed a slight gas odor in the drum after sitting unused for several hours. After disassembling the dryer and leak-testing all the gas fittings with dishsoap, I found that there was a very slight leak from the gas jet on the valve. Ordered this unit to replace it, and removed and cleaned all the pipe fittings with gasket remover in the meantime. Reassembled with Rectorseal #5 on all the non-flare fittings, and the dryer was back up and running with no leaks or odors in about an hour. After running a couple of loads of laundry through it then letting it sit overnight, the drum and dryer pass the sniff test -- no gas odor anymore. Very happy! I was glad to see that this a Genuine GE part in a GE box, with White-Rodgers labeling on the valve as they manufacture these valves for several different companies. Keep in mind that all you get is what you see in the picture (gas jet is installed, but no gas line fitting), so you'll need to remove the flare fitting and compression nut from the old valve, clean off all the old sealant, and transfer it to the new valve. I was expecting this to be troublesome, but some time with a can of automotive gasket remover and an old toothbrush removed all of the old sealant fairly easily.

Works but needs work
Seems to be working so far, but the metal screws that fasten the valve to the mounting bracket are exceedingly difficult to tighten because there are no threads for them to screw into in the valve. You kind of need to make your own threads by turning the screws with a lot of force into the corresponding holes on the valve. I had to use a vise and a large pair of pliers. Also be advised that this valve does not come with a fitting to connect it to the gas line. You will need to remove the gas fitting from your old valve with a 3/8 inch allen wrench. Mine was extremely tight. Again, it required a vise to hold the valve.

I bought and paid for a new valve but I received an opened old box that looked like it was a return.
It appears that the solenoids on the unit were removed and replaced. There was an extra used bad solenoid with an open coil inserted in the box. The screws of the bracket holding the solenoids were loose, so I retightened them after inspecting everything. The two solenoids coils on the unit tested ok with an ohm meter. I replaced the gas valve on my Whirlpool dryer Mod: WGD9500TW2 and so far it's working ok. I would have given 5 stars if it was a new untampered unit in a sealed box, which is what I paid for.

Delivered quickly
Gas valve was exactly what I ordered. Installed it in a GE dryer and it is working perfectly. Arrived sooner than the initial estimate, which was great. No issues.

FITS MY MAYTAG!!
I got a new but used Maytag gas dryer from my sister in law, but it wouldn't fire up. So I replaced the coils on the valve, but no luck. The glow plug worked so it had to be the valve. The closest Maytag/Whirlpool valve assembly would cost at least $195.00 I just happened to see this one and thought it looked like the valve I needed???? "G.E.?? MATCHED FERFECTLY!! My dryer works like a brand new. Thank you!

It worked for my maytag dryer even though this is a different brand . Maytag brand cost more so I bought this one and it’s cheaper

Exact replacement all #s match
My GE DBSR453GB1WW Also had a gas oder in the drum when off. I tested all joints and found dryer valve was passing gas at the nozzle. Replaced in about an hour. Exactly the same valve.
