This train set is amazing!
The media could not be loaded. We have kids ranging from ages 3.5 to 9 and have accumulated many different train sets over the years (e.g., Thomas, Chuggington, Ikea) and this one is by far my favorite. It is well made and has so many different features that kids of all ages will enjoy it (all 4 of mine did!). It is compatible with other wooden train sets, which is great because then we can connect our other sets and use our other trains (but you certainly do not need to because the Hape Grand City Station is a substantial set on its own). My bigger kids' favorite feature is the voice recorder that allows them to record different announcements in the station. Not surprisingly, they have recorded some really silly announcements that have caused all the kids to double over in laughter. The train set comes with multiple trains and people, which allow for lots of pretend play. My kids have also enjoyed playing with the other interactive features, including the light up pictures (you use a "ticket" to project different cityscapes), the repair station that allows you to elevate a train to repair it, and the moving elevator. If your kids love pretend play (like mine do), this set should keep them occupied for hours at at time!

Accidentally opened this when it came and my thre year old son seen it so it is no longer Xmas present he opened and has played with it non stop this is one of the best train sets I have purchased and trust me when I say I’ve gotten ALOT I love that u can record stuff we say welcome to rhetts train station I do wish the record button and play back weren’t next to each other he constantly sets it off bc he’s little and hits the wrong button we ended up putting tape over it so he knew which to push for play back other than that it’s a great set and worth every dollar

Upper platform broken after 1 week of play
Easy to assemble. The recording and playback feature is great. The train magnets do not hold them together with each other. And one of the people’s legs fonts bend so they cannot sit in trains. The major disappointment with this toy is that the upper platform broke after a week of play. My son is 2 and a half and shouldn’t be able to break a wooden toy in normal use. Expected more from Hape. It’s an engaging toy but bummer it broke. The tracks don’t line up right now with the broken platform. Update: the platform is now completely broken off and no the track cannot connect to this side of the station. I don’t recommend this product and am disappointed with the decline in quality of Hape toys.

Santa’s Favorite Toy!
An excellent balance to the LOL madness for me and my daughters! While the station comes with plenty of track, I figured more might keep my daughters out of each others’ way, so I also purchased the Dragon Drew Wooden Train tracks (also from Amazon) for extra track and the pieces were in excellent condition and fit with the Grand City Station Railway track perfectly. The light and speaker are a really cool addition to an already awesome toy!

My granddaughter loved it!
The media could not be loaded. My daughter and I put this together for my granddaughter this weekend, it took us about 20 minutes to assemble. The directions were easy to understand, with a lot of pictures which helped. The toy is made of superior quality! No rough edges, no splintering wood. She loved being able to record herself welcoming the train when it would come to a stop at the different stations. If I had one small complaint, I think the magnets on the cars should be stronger so the train will stay together going up the ramps. All in all, beautifully made toy and would highly recommend!

3 1/2 year old grandson loves!
Gift for 3 1/2 year old grandson. He absolutely loves it. It is very sturdy, different ways to set up and play. Our 2nd HAPE purchase, 1st was such a big hit

Super Engaging and High Quality
The product came well packaged and was easy to put together. My boys love playing with it and have it connected to multiple other tracks, cranes, bridges, etc. Quality has been great so far, had it out and playing on it daily since Christmas with two young boys who try as they may, are still somewhat rough on toys.

It was a gift for my great niece and nephew. The family truly enjoyed it and feels well worth the money.

Hopefully will last for years to come.
Bought this as a Christmas gift. Have set it up already to present on Christmas Day. I like the fact that it’s made from sustainable materials and hopefully can be passed down rather than tossed out. I do think it is a lovely playable fun toy but my only criticism is l don’t think it is quite the quality of its main competitor brio.

Great train set!
Love this train set! The voice recording function is great. My 3 year old really enjoys playing with it. The only small downside is that the magnets on the train sometimes become detached when climbing the 'hill'. Lovely little details for small world play though and I would really recommend it.

Good fun
My 4yr son absolutely love this station. Fits great with his other wooden track (Brio and BigJigs). The ‘record your own station announcement’ bit is a lot of fun.

Opened this and found the electronic functions dont work. Overall a nice toy, but let down by faulty electronics. No Stars
