More information on sizing would be good
Update Jul 30, 2011 I strained my back again so I purchased another one in a smaller size. Wearing this has made my life bearable again and I don't need to take Advil anymore. It inspired me to alter the first one I bought which I did. If I had to buy another one, I'd buy a size smaller still. I thought I took an XL but a Med would do the trick. I have found the best way to put this on is to pull it around to see how tight you want it. Make note of where the binder overlaps. Move the binder down below you knees and over lap it to your desired size so the velcro closure is smooth. Pull up over the hips Pros: Very, Very comfortable. 9 inches for adjustment which is great if you don't mind the extra bulk of the overlap. (This is why I suggested 2 sizes smaller.) Excellent support for my condition Stomach measurement went from 44" with it off to 42 1/2" with it on making it very discreet under clothing. Cons: Finding correct size is extremely difficult. I hurt my back shoveling snow. I had a very cumbersome back support that had many straps for adjusting the support. It helped my back while it healed but I wanted something that was not as obvious and bulky under my clothes. This is a very good light weight support. My only problem was finding the right size. I could not find any information on what place on the body the manufacturer was using for it's sizing. I made the assumption that it was the hip measurement and I was wrong. The sizing is based on your measurement half way between the waist and your hip. I guess I should have surmised that from the name of the product "Abdominal Binder" but I didn't. A smaller size would have been better but fortunately I can alter the one I purchased. This is not something I wear constantly. I use it to support my back when doing strenuous activities so hopefully I won't injure my back again.

Price efficient alternative
I ordered this item to use as a post partum wrap, after returning the Belly Bandit. I just didn't feel like the Belly Bandit was worth $50, especially after seeing the tiny package in person. Given, it does look a little more stylish and sturdy, but I plan to wear the wrap under my clothes anyway and the Gabrialla seems like it will hold up just fine. My advice, don't pay the maternity premium! *Update: I had my baby about a week ago and have been wearing the binder day and night. So far it's been great! For me, I'm looking for the wrap effect and support this month rather than any aesthetics, and ths product fits the bill. I am able to wear it almost 24/7 over a thin cami, to avoid getting dirty or itchy, and I like that it's stretchy so I can just fold it up a little to use the ladies room rather than taking it off and having to re-wrap (you would not be able to easily fold the Belly Bandit). The support is good too, since there is a section of the wrap that is more solid and another that is more stretch, and I wear the stretchy part over my stomach and it's easy to adjust. A little riding up is inevitable, but it's minimal and basically stays put when I'm sleeping. Three minor problems: 1) the edge of the Velcro is very rough and I have gotten little cuts when I accidentally brush it on the back of my hand, 2) I do foresee that it will get less stretchy with reuse and I've only got another inch and a half or so ability to tighten (I'm 5'5 size 2 or 4 pre-pregnancy), 3) you will need a partner to help put it on and stretch nice and tight. Overall a smart buy and I will be getting it again when the time comes for Baby 2.

Is what it is...
I didn't have high hopes for this product based on the reviews. I was looking for abdominal support for running and playing sports after the delivery of my first baby. I got this 7 weeks postpartum and I'm in good shape and close to my pre pregnancy size, so I wasn't necessarily looking for tummy flattening capability. What it is (PROS): 1. Pretty good support. I feel like my abdominal muscles are well supported when I put it on and run. This alone is enough for me. 2. Affordable. $25 is worth it for the abdominal support! 3. Well made. I haven't had it very long but it seems like it will last a while. What it's not (CONS): 1. Comfortable. It's kind of itchy and doesn't stay as low as I would like. I would not wear this all day or even for more than a workout. It's quite hot here too, and the binder makes it hotter. I'm also not sure it will feel right playing sports. But I'm also not sure it's possible to make an abdominal supporting belt that IS comfortable. 2. Attractive. You cannot wear it under your cocktail dress or anything form fitting. 3. Sized appropriately... I measured my waist (34") and got a small based on the info in another review: small: up to 34" medium: up to 38" large: up to 46" x-large: up to 55" xx-large: up to 64" But really, if I were much smaller than 34", the binder would be useless. I definitely have it almost as tight as it goes, and there's enough velcro that it would fit a much bigger waist than mine.

A bit disappointed.
Disappointing.Although it is a good cool material far better than others I've tried.The problem is for me it rolls up.It would be great if it contained stays up the back to stop it rolling.It would have been better if it was a little bit longer .I have a abdominal hernia that is quite high up.because this product is short I feel like I'm pulling it up and down to get it into the right place.Shame as the material is the most comfortable.

First off I followed the label for sizing and ordered a xl and it was way to big so I sent it back and ordered a large and its sizing is very small! it’s only one big flap not DOUBLE flaps like it shows ! I would not recommend this at all ! The ad is false and misleading . I’ll be sending this one back

The product was not as advertised!
I bought this expecting it to be as shown in the photo as well as the description that there are 2 panels on the belt. The product that received was the same box as shown but it came with 1 big panel which does not allow for adjusting tension of the mid-torso and lower abdomen. Quite disappointed as I was looking forward to some pain support and relief with the belt after a c-section

It was great for a couple days
It was great for a couple days. Now its all creased from being worn and bunches up funny. I had my baby on Sunday and I stopped wearing it on Thursday. Although I do think it didn't make a difference initially as my stomach does seem to have gone flatter quicker then with my first child.

It's comfortable to wear
It's comfortable to wear, but "scrunches" down with a lot of bending. As long as you're aware, it is a fine product. I took it to Burma, where the temperature is 30-35C, and it was breathable and quite fine to wear in hot weather.
