CLASSY, GREAT PRICE, STURDY, SAFER OUTER COATING THAN METAL TOASTERS
I used to have a large Cuisnart toaster that I received as a gift and lasted me about 25 years. I needed a new toaster and went for what was convenient in stores that had lower cost items which i had to return each and every time. WHEN I SAW THIS REGULAR SIZE CUISNART ON SALE - I LEPT TO PURCHASE IT and TOTALLY SATISFIED. It is the right size for my current counter, has that nice plastic outer case which makes it all around sturdier and i find much safer than metal. It is MANUAL and NOT DIGITAL - which is great for my guests with low vision, as it is just an ordinary toaster! That is CLASSY and NICE! ONLY use the manual dial setting of 2 or 2 1/2 if you want regular toast, as higher it will get brown/black -- STAY PRESENT ON YOUR FIRST USE AS IT WILL SMELL LIKE ELECTRIC/PLASTIC on the FIRST TOASTING OF BREAD. After that it is gone. Also, YOU MUST ON YOUR FIRST TOASTING WATCH THE TOASTER AND THE SETTING to make sure you do not burn the toast by having it too high. There was a recommendation on the online advertisement that said middle setting, but that was way past burnt -- so, aim for about 2.0-2.5 if you like brown toast, not black or burning:) It has a great cord, and I set it up in minutes on my counter, and have enjoyed having a safe toaster again. LIKE WITH ALL TOASTERS, supervise children the first few times they use this as this is a manual dial and it can easily get bumped to higher than necessary number which can cause burnt toast or risk -- LIKE WITH ALL TOASTERS. I find this Cuisnart safer than most due to the outer plastic coating which gets warm but not burning like metal toasters. ENJOY GREAT TOAST!!! Plus, this nice little toaster has a button for bagels. FYI, i have low vision people in my life, and keeping products simple with manual dials and only a few feel-able buttons is important. This meets that, as long as one practices on the first and second use of the toaster to get the right setting that is not too hot for toasting bread or bagels. GREAT TOASTER!

It toasts bread. It's not expensive.
It toasts bread. Perfectly? Meh, it's toast, whatever. It's not expensive. It's not ugly. It's not perfect, but it will do. It will probably last as long as a toaster several times the cost. The crumb tray is a bit of a joke like on all toasters. Like all toasters the best way to clean out the crumbs is to carry it to the kitchen sink, turn it upside down and shake it like mad. I hope to get a few years out of this toaster and then I will buy another one, just like the people who are paying $200 for a nice colorful looking toaster. Would I pay $200 for a great looking toaster ? Yes, IF I knew it would last as long my parent's old toaster that was built like a tank and lasted 40 years, sure. But they don't.

Great Toaster - Temperature is my only Complaint
For the cost this is a great toaster. I have had it for close to 3 years and still love it. It does it's job but I do find that it struggles a little with temperature control. I would just recommend going light at first on temperature and then maybe popping it down again for a little extra if needed until you get a good feel for each number and how it toasts. Another great thing about this toaster is it isn't ugly! I have no problem leaving this out on the counter. Is a great dupe for a Cafe or those other pricier white toasters without looking cheap!

I decided to keep it.
I like the size and the way it looks. I only buy white appliances and this toaster fits in and looks good. But I am not impressed with the way it toasts bread. It certainly does not toast uniformly like the review videos show. When toasting two slices of bread, the sides of the bread toward the center toast darker than the outboard sides and this is more pronounced when toasting only one slice of bread. But I have developed a technique that satisfies me. I toast the bread for half the time one way, and then when it pops up, I reverse the slices and toast it for half the time that way and the result is toasted bread that perfectly satisfies me. This can be done because of the good toasting controls. And the toaster looks good on the counter in my kitchen with white appliances.

Good toaster, but not even
This is a good version of the classic 2-slice toaster, but it does not do an even job. Once you know the flaws, it is easier to cope with them. If you use it only once a day it is ok, but if you use it back-to-back, it is important to know that you will have to adjust the thermostat or you will end up with burnt bread. It is also a little tricky to regulate the desired "doneness" of frozen items. Overall, it is OK. But I believe it could be way better.

The best feature is that you don't have to reach in the toaster to get the english muffin!
I really like the design of the lift up so you don't need to place your fingers in the toaster. It toasts well with the excpetion of english muffins ( I orriginally thought). If you like your english muffin more toasted, press the "BAGEL and DEFROST" buttons after depressing the lever to start the toaster. It comes out very crip (how I like it). Once I got used to doing this setting, I decided to keep the toaster.

I ain't spending a hundred bucks on a toaster!
This was about 25 dollars on Amazon with their coupon (2 slice model). Toasts evenly, settings easy to use, easy to clean because of pull out crumb tray. A few comments: Cancel button very convenient so you can end toasting if it appears it is done before cycle is completed Can extend cage upwards to retrieve small pieces without having to stick fork into toaster to retrieve (I broke a bagel half in half so it was a quarter bagel and it would have been hard to retrieve without this feature). Speaking of bagels, the bagel button does not result in toasting on only one side: the manual makes clear it extends the duration of toasting to account for the bagel's thickness. Not a very helpful feature but it works fine toasting bagels.

Overall quality item
Toster manufacturers make a lot of claims about their specific features, especially over their timers or modes, but this unit actually seems to hold fairly true to them. The timer being the typical thermostatic control, toasting multiple slices in succession will show shorter and shorter times on the same setting as the heating elements reach the target temp faster. Aside from that, it holds up to a lot of its promises. As a Cuisinart product, it holds up to the brand reputation.

Not very good for toasting halved buns or bagels.
Like, the looks of it. Like, that it is white . Like , that bread slices toast nicely. Dislike that halves buns and bagels burn easy even on number one. Not made for thick item that need to be toasted.

Toasting Options Not Functioning
This is fine for toasting bread. But the bagel function does not work nor does the defrost. I haven’t tried reheat function. When using the bagel function, all the coils both inside and outside of bagel are fully lit so that the outside of bagel gets brown and crusty rather than just toasting the inside and lightly on outside. Defrost function just toasts. No defrost happens. Essentially on all functions, all coils operate as if toasting a slice of bread. Big disappointment since this Cuisinart toaster was highly rated. Bought in September and didn’t try all the functions within the 30 day window and I cannot return now.
