REPAIRED!! / Door closes all the way now! / Frigidaire model FEFB78DBA
We bought our oven used. When I installed the oven I noticed that the oven light stayed on. Not knowing that the hinges were going bad I stuck a magnet on the door to get the light to go off. Over a period of a month the door progressively got worse where there was clearly a large gap on top looking from the side and the light would not go off even with the magnet in place. After watching some Youtube videos and reading some threads I realized my door hinges might be bad. Prior to ordering the hinges I took the old ones out and looked them over. I could not see anything wrong with them but took a chance and ordered them anyway instead of buying a new oven. To my surprise this was well worth the investment. The hinges were the culprit. The door now closes tight and all the way, what a relief! A little more info on the brackets and install: The brackets are both the same. One is not designated right or left. You will receive two door brackets, two receiver brackets and four new screws. The inner brackets weren't threaded and were a little difficult to get the screw to go in all the way. The screws are like self tapping screws but due to the head being odd sized they are hard to get all the way in. I used one of the old screws with the inner bracket out (uninstalled) and used some vice grips to get the bracket threaded to where it was easy to tighten the new screws in. For some reason a number 2 screwdriver didn't fit snug which caused some slipping. I had to really muscle it in. I wish the company sent the exact tool or insert needed to tighten the screws easily but I wouldn't discount a star just for that. The inner brackets are easily installed by taking the broiler drawer all the way out and unscrewing four screws, two on each side. Once the screws come out the bracket will fall to the ground. Someone with small hands can easily get the new inner brackets in position for you once you get them threaded. All in all I am VERY happy with getting my oven fixed. good so far; one surprise during installation
These new hinges fixed our problem of our oven door light coming on and off as we walked around the kitchen. We'd started by replacing the seal, but that didn't do the trick. The job would have taken 15 minutes or less, but there was a problem reinstalling the two bolts on our stove that hold each hinge onto the door. Turns out the holes in these new hinges were not threaded to accept the bolts. Best solution would have been to use a tap and die set to create the threads. I was able to do the job without a tap and die, through propping the hinges securely against the back of the door and using a bit of brute force. Did not expect to encounter this problem and made it a bit more of a hassle, but in the end it worked out with some extra elbow grease and time.

These hinges were perfect
These hinges were a perfect replacement part. Make sure you research the exact type of hinge you need for your application. There are several types, get informed. These hinges came in a box that fit them,that was inside of a huge box that, honestly, was larger than needed to be. Photos and instructions were a bit on the small size. This wasn't a problem because I had already searched YouTube videos on how to do it.

It works great! The oven is like new.
Our oven door was not closing all the way, I saw a few YouTube videos showing how to replace the door springs. The hardest part was getting the new screws to start and cut threads. Use the old screws to do that, and then the new screws to do the install and it is much easier. That said our 12 year old oven door works like new.

Good product with other issues
The hinges fixed my problem and worked fine, but.............the installation instructions were a joke. Thumbnail size photos and the instructions didn't even work for my Kenmore range. Why the brackets weren't pre-threaded I'll never know. It was very difficult to not strip the heads on the thread cutting screws, but yet screw them in to form the threads needed to install them. It was very time consuming and difficult using either vice grips and a vice to get it done prior to installation in the range. This is the second time I've had to replace the hinges. Next time, I buy a new range (not a Kenmore

Just what I needed
Exactly what I needed. I was able to easily replace the hinges on my Kenmore oven. I used a craftsman P2 Phillips screwdriver and it went together like a dream. Now my door closes properly with no gap. Taking the door apart to see I needed new hinges was a little daunting. Need a wide open space and wear gloves as the door parts have grease. Should have done this year's ago when a roommate leaned on the door and bent the hinge. Oh well. Hind sight is 20/20.
