Wool is the best
I love love love wool socks! I have had pairs last years. These are great old school socks. If you don’t like wool you will not like these at all. They are warm and I love that they don’t squeeze at the top. There feel slightly thinner than the pairs I am replacing that are so old I don’t know the brand. Only reason for a 4 vs 5. I hope they last like my old ones.

Not true to size
Very very comfortable, I love rag whool socks with at least 80% whool. I have been wearing them for 40+ years most of that time working nights outdoors in northen VT, so when my long time supplier dryed up I tried these. I am a size 8.5 mens so I bought the large mens 9-11.5. I have to fight to get them on, brand new right out of the box. I would like to buy more but unsure of size to buy.

Itchy wool. I was hoping they'd be less like that. Otherwise, they're ok. I'll just soak them in liquid fabric softener or something???

Tight, but not too much
The warmth is amazing, but despite wearing for long periods, I'm not at all itching from these. Considering the temp is regularly getting -25 and lower, this is perfect for both day and wearing to bed, when I have a bed next to a window that leaks heat too much.

Super thick and warm
These are nice and thick and feel great - not plasticky like synthetic socks. They are pretty tall , would buy a shorter pair and in womens sizes, but the scrunched up look is cute with leggings and boots.

I really like these socks. They come up high enough to hold base layer in place while putting jeans on plus they are warm!

Best wool socks!
I am a female and purchased the men's large since they didn't have a women's option at the time I was ordering. The socks fit perfect as a boot sock and I can layer with a thin cotton sock for added moisture wicking and warmth. I have been buying these socks for years since they are the only wool socks I can find that are the thick and durable old-fashioned style. I have not had a hole in one though after years of use, there is some thinning in the back of the heal. I also live in Montana where we have about 7 months of winter. So these socks have had alot of use. I love them.

Thinner then wigwam socks. The hiking sock can come loose and slide down. If placed on top of long johns the sick stays in place
